About this audiobook
War veteran Kennedy O’Brien is in the business of sticking it to the man—or at least any man who tries to cross a woman. After she returned home from Afghanistan and caught her husband in bed with the nanny, Kennedy lost her faith in men and started Fool Me Once Investigations with her two best friends. After all, there’s no better bounty hunter than a woman scorned.
When Kennedy takes a case to slap cuffs on a bail jumper turned dog-napper, she figures it’ll be an easy paycheck. But trouble has a way of finding Kennedy. Enter the last man on the planet she’d willingly choose as a partner: her cheating ex-husband’s best friend, Griffin Crawford.
As gorgeous as he is unwelcome, Griffin has always had a thing for Kennedy, and after keeping quiet about her ex’s cheating, he’ll do anything to earn back her trust. Whether or not she wants to admit it, Kennedy will need help as the case of the Chihuahua thief spirals out of control. Griffin may be just her man—in more ways than one.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5SHAME ON YOU was a fun romance that reminded me a bit of the Stephanie Plum mysteries by Janet Evanovich. Kennedy O'Brien is former Army and newly divorced. She found her now ex-husband getting it on with the nanny. She and a couple of girlfriends have formed a detective agency whose goal is to stick it to men who take advantage of women. However, to make ends meet and help out her father, she does some bail bond work. Her current case for her father has her tracking down a man who has kidnapped a chihuahua. It should be an easy case but thing after thing goes wrong. To add insult to injury, her father saddles her with a partner. Griffin Crawford was her ex-husband's best friend. They have all known each other since they were teenagers. Kennedy thought Griffin was her friend too until she heard him telling her ex to lie to her. She and Griffin make a bet to see who can track down the dognapper first. If she loses, she has to go on a date with him. Little does she know that Griffin has been in love with her since they were teens. The story was filled with absurd situations and lots of humor. Fans of humorous romances will enjoy this one.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very funny and cute read but the over abundance of her saying GD,yes because she won't take the Lords name in vain until she does once and so does her brother and another person, is absolutely ridiculous. It is used once or more every chapter. Saying the initials is just as bad if you don't believe in saying it and it got really annoying. Otherwise this would have been a quick 5 star read for me.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5SENSUALITY RATING: YES Profanity; YES sexual encounter (“penis” is the word of the day) both oral, masturbation and intercourse. Example: “My hips keep moving and his fingers keep pumping inside of me…..”GENRE: Modern daySETTING: South Bend, IndianaCENTRAL FEMALE CHARACTER: (forgot her name) – Sarcastic; carries a punch that won’t quit; ex-Army; gorgeous eyes; mother of 2 daughters, “Okay, fine. You aren’t going out in public looking like that.”CENTRAL MALE CHARACTER: GRIFFIN CRAWFORD – He is totally hot on his Harley, six pack and sexy smile au extraordinaire.SYNOPSIS: Written in first tense. McFadden is proving to be a challenge. Griffin is really getting on her nerves. Paige will not go anywhere unless her makeup is perfect. Lorelei is the voice of reason. Dad is considering a new business after discovering that guys want to break into the “back door”. Uncle Wally continuously fights with his brother about a business name. Sven is the best hair stylist ever.WHAT I LIKED: This book is so HILARIOUS that I laughed many times with tears in my eyes. “……..’Griffin Crawford, King of Penises’”. Hilarious.WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: PROFANITY and using the LORD’s name in vain really drove me crazy.OVERALL RATING: (4) stars because filthy language and references to “GD” otherwise would have been a 5 on my hit list.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5First let me start with the length of the book. Don't let it fool you. It may only be 140 pages, but it is 140 pages of fun! There is no spot lacking in this story. Tara used every single page to her advantage, or ours. Either way, this isn't one of the novellas that leaves you dumbfounded and feeling used. Well, you might feel slightly used, but only in a Tara Sivec kind of way!
So the meat and potatoes of the story. Yes, it's a "love story". But only as Tara can do, it is so much more! It's GD entertaining all of the way through. I mean nothing smells of success than sexually charged attractions that should be forbidden.
Kennedy and Griffin. I shouldn't have to say anymore. But I guess you expect me to. Griffin is Kennedy's ex-husband's former best-friend. Forbidden. Off limits. Never gonna happen. Well, maaaaaybe... If Kennedy can get over herself and not beat him to catching that GD bail-jumper!
Witty. All of the supporting characters. I can't seem to sum them up any other way. I found myself in tears over these characters. They added that extra umph we all need to keep the story-line even more fabulous.
Are you still wanting more? Well, those that follow my reviews know, there is a good chance you won't get a whole lot more from me. I am not the type to read and tell. I will only tell you what you need to know. And what you need to know that this is almost as funny as The Chocolate Lovers Series. Yes, I said almost. I am not sure if Tara would ever top those books. If she does, well, I am in. Wait, I forgot my point. Oh, even though this isn't AS funny, it is still funny as GD hell!!!! It's a whole different story. It is in no way the same as others. It stands all by its lonesome on a cliff waiting for a companion. So just read it. I promise you won't be disappointed! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
I don’t want to date him. I don’t want to fall in love with him, and I don’t want him professing his stupid crush. I don’t need this complication in my life. Thank you for the wonderful orgasm, but I’m done. Seacrest, out!
I am probably one of the very few oddballs that haven’t had the pleasure of ready Sivec’s Chocolate Lover’s series. While I have devoured her Playing with Fire series, I had yet to experience her sexual humor that everyone raves about. I jumped head first into this book expecting a large dose of it, and boy, was I ever rewarded! This is the first book in a LONG time that literally had me laughing out loud and reading excerpts to my husband. Sivec is one quirky chick and I LOVE it!
Shame on You is the first in a new series that will follow three independent and strong willed women through the trials and tribulations of starting over in their thirties. Besides the fact that it was a Sivec book, that alone cemented that I would be reading them. She just writes with this humor that, while over the top, is still completely believable. You cannot help but be drawn into the story and the character’s lives. For those few hours it takes to read, you live and breathe them. The first book is the story of Kennedy and Griffin and they light the damn pages up! I’m talking sexual tension so thick you just know that when they inevitably give in there will be an explosion of epic proportions!
Beyond the humor and hot hanky panky, there was heart, which is what truly makes Sivec’s books so special. Without them even saying so, I could feel how hurt they’d both been. I could feel his depth of devotion and (seemingly) unrequited love for Kennedy. Griffin had heart and soul and I loved learning what made the man tick. I loved the strong no-nonsense friendship that the ladies had with each other; not taking any crap from one another and always pushing each other to do things that deep down they couldn’t or wouldn’t admit they wanted. This was a solid five star book for me and I eagerly await the next installment! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Kennedy O'Brien is what happens when you cross Stephanie Plum with actual Army skills and training. It is a short, fun read that will keep me coming back for more with the series. I hesitate to give it more stars since I felt rushed through the entire book, the sexual tension was resolved in the first chapters and you knew what was going to happen. Her ex deserved a gun shot not a black eye. Why were her brothers and father not sticking up for her and her kids? Needed more info on the back stories of the other Shame on You girls, waiting for their books isn't helping me stay connected to the story. Griffin was scorching hot.
