About this audiobook

Ellis Garrett is dumping her critical boyfriend, opening a plus-size clothing store, and starting a blog-all to spread the word that fashion shouldn't require a size-two body and that happiness should allow for the occasional cupcake. Or two. But is indulging fantasies about her sister's long-ago ex, the still-hunky Michael Edwards, biting off more than she can chew?

Mike must be losing his detective's touch. He doesn't recognize Ellis when he bumps into her at Size Me Up, and he certainly doesn't remember his ex-girlfriend's outspoken sister being so irresistible. Her curves are indeed dangerous-and so is her wit. Could it be that Ellis is his Perfect Fit? One thing's for sure: Mike will make it his sworn duty to find out . . .

The book was awesome, the narrator was garage!! She had the worst Irish/Scottish/Jamaican(yes,sometime) accent ever. All of the characters sounded the same and she kept dropping her new york accent throughout the story.

This book wasn't really in my normal genre of books but I wanted to try it out. There were parts I raised my eyebrows at and parts I was like really? that's not going to happen but I enjoyed it. I liked that you saw from Ellis's point of view but also from Mike's. It was a good beach read type of book

This is the first book in the Perfect Fit Novel, and I must say I can’t wait for more. This book is awesomely hilarious and unique! The attraction, camaraderie, and “sassiness” of the dialogue and basic interaction between Ellis and Mike is super sexy and super funny – it is truly what makes the whole story come alive. The quirkiness of Ellis’ parents is unique as well and just adds to the “differentness” of the book. This is certainly not your usual run-of-the-mill romance novel – it is so much more!I so enjoyed the character of Ellis (even her name is distinctive). She was so easy to relate an so not your typical romance heroine. The friendship between her and the people who work in her story was carefully thought out and written in a way to provide Ellis support, voice of reason, but yet a push for her to go out and grab her dreams. Her family interactions were quirky at best ( love, love, love her father’s character), but added more realness and just a since of family and love. Mike was an interesting character you will love by the end. His family appeared at just the right time (hahaha) and added an additional emotional element to the already dimensional and beautifully written story. The character of Jack (aka Jack-ass, haha) is a perfect adversary along with his Aunt – they not only added another layer of funny but also within their interactions Mike’s protectiveness emerges and will make you love him that much more. This book was well thought out and planned – all the twists and turns twist and turn at just the right moment, and they make sense and work to create a wonderfully unique story. It is a true must read for those who are looking for or who adore snarky-sassiness from a not so conventional character.I cannot wait for the second book in the series – if it is anything like this one it will be simply fabulous!Rating: 4.5Heat Rating: HotReviewed by: A. Have you ever started a book purely for its entertainment value, and came out learning a few life lessons by the end of the book? No? Well, if you read this book you might. I'll be honest and admit I never start a romance novel thinking I'll learn something new. Usually, it's because the cover has a hot guy on the cover or it sounds like it'll have some hot sex in it (I'm being honest here, guys!), but I've never picked up a book thinking, "Wow, this book will teach me how forgiveness is the key to happiness!" Yeah... Not what I'd consider a fun read. I stick to fiction for a reason. I want to be entertained, I want to be taken on an adventure. I want to be someone else for a little while. I want to learn new sex tips (just kidding guys, fiction is probably the wrong place to turn for those). DANGEROUS CURVES AHEAD is a fun mixture of romance, humor, sizzling sex, and entertaining relationship mistakes shaped into life lessons. DANGEROUS CURVES AHEAD is not your average contemporary romance novel. There's so much conflict in this story. There's Elise's ex-boyfriend trying to re-enter the picture, his creepy aunt dogging her every step, the mysterious robberies popping up in shops around hers, and the yummy old crush that doesn't seem to remember her existence. Figures. With all that is going on in under 400 pages, you'd expect the book to be a cluttered mess, but it's not. It's a fabulous train wreck that makes a girl wish she had a bowl of movie theater popcorn. Elise: This girl would be my best friend if she were a real person. She's sarcastic, funny, and borderline rude, but I wouldn't change a thing about her. Except maybe the way she continues to put herself down. She uses weight issues as a wall so she doesn't become emotionally involved. It makes her an interesting character, but pisses off the people who care about her. Well, we all have our problems. I personally hate a perfect character. Mike: This guy is the classic player. He's never had a steady relationship, but he has had a steady of one night stands. One thing is for sure, thought, he's definitely looking for more than one night with Elise. But how to go about making her want the same? This book was one of the best I've read in awhile. I love a humorous book that leaves me laughing, even after I've finished the book. The only complaint I have is the author's awkwardness with saying the word "penis" during sex. I believe she calls it his "manhood" and other substitutes for the word. If you've written a contemporary book and your characters can drop an "F" bomb or when a character can say the word "penis", you can write the word "dick" or at the very least, "penis" in a sex scene. All-in-all I loved this book. I predict I'll be purchasing a copy and re-reading this book soon. If you're into contemporary romance, pick up a copy! You will not be disappointed.

Disclaimer: I received this book free from St. Martin's Press in exchange for an honest review. I did not receive any form of compensation.I blew through this book so quickly, I didn't want it to end! This book was so hilarious that I was laughing until I cried! You know what I mean. I hadn't laughed that hard in a long time.I absolutely loved the characters. Jack was such a jack-ass that I wanted to beat the living crap out of him for Ellis. And being a big, curvy woman myself, I have heard all of those same nasty remarks that Jack was always spouting off towards her. So yes, I could literally see myself in Ellis. Her parents were so adorable. The funny thing is that when I finished reading this book, I was already hoping that Sugar had plans for writing more in this series. I want to know what happens to Cherri, Belinda, Dina, and all the other great people. The I get onto my computer and see that there is a novella coming out in October and another full length book in Jan. I can't wait! These characters are like those long time friends that you haven't seen for awhile and have an exciting trip planned together and you just don't want to wait until then to get together.Sugar Jamison is one author that will definitely be gracing my library shelves for years to come. This is that type of book that I know I will want to reread over and over again. The type of book that will surely break you out of a bad mood and have you in fits of laughter in no time at all.

Ellis Garret is not your usual romance heroine in some ways, primarily her body type-curvy. In many other ways she is all of the things we love in our heroines- smart, ambitious, doesn’t take crap from people and a really nice person. When she runs into her long ago crush in line at the bakery and he can’t remember her name she doesn’t let him off the hook and remind him of her name. Mike Edwards knows that he has met her but never slept with her because she looks like a white picket fence type of girl.Ellis has a complicated history with her family and romance. She is adopted and her sister has made her life miserable since childhood. Her mother is a Woman’s Studies professor who is constantly giving her advice and has always favored Ellis’ sister, Dina. Ellis has a good relationship with her father but he has Asperger’s and is incapable of giving her the affection she craves. Dina has treated her badly including enticing Mike (who Dina knew Ellis was attracted to) into doing the nasty in Ellis’ own bedroom at a party celebrating Ellis graduating from Law School. The final nail in the fragile coffin of Ellis’ ego is the nasty breakup she recently had with her fiancé Jack. Needless to say she isn’t exactly open to a romance with Mike. She just wants to make her shop-Size Me Up-a success and show all her doubters that she can have a great life.I liked the fact that Ellis didn’t just jump all over Mike when he started to show an interest in her. She made him work for it and prove himself. It was a little annoying sometimes how distrustful she would be over every little thing, but given the past circumstances also understandable. Mike is pretty steadfast in his attention to Ellis with a mishap her or there but for the most part he really makes an effort to get Ellis to trust him. There are the expected plus size stereotypes but there is also a nice storyline about how Ellis makes life better for her customers who don’t fit the so called perfect size. There is a second book in the series expected out in 2014 which tells the story of one of the employees of Size Me Up. I have already added it to my TBR list.
