About this audiobook
When Ben Silverstein is sent to the rundown town of Buttonville to spend the summer with his grandfather, he's certain it will be the most boring vacation ever. That is, until his grandfather¹s cat brings home what looks like...a baby dragon?
Enter Pearl Petal, a local girl with an eye for adventure, who helps Ben take the wounded dragon to the only veterinarian in – the mysterious Dr. Woo. No one knows where Dr. Woo came from or why she's moved into the old button factory and renamed it Dr. Woo's Worm Hospital. But as Ben and Pearl discover once they are inside, Dr. Woo's isn't a worm hospital at all – it's actually a secret hospital for Imaginary Creatures.
After Ben accidentally leaves the hospital's front door unlocked, a rather large, rather stinky, and very hairy beast escapes into Buttonville. Ben and Pearl are tasked with retrieving the runaway creature, and what started out as the most boring vacation ever becomes the story of a lifetime.
In this irresistible new series, Suzanne Selfors takes listeners on a wild journey filled with mythical creatures and zany adventures that are anything but imaginary.
A Hachette Audio production.

Reviews for The Sasquatch Escape
40 ratings5 reviews
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am 6 I liked this book a lot. It was not scary.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Kids have recommended this book to me -- and I'm super glad they like it. It didn't really appeal to me at all.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Meh. A fun little adventure, I guess, but no depth, no real heart. Is it going to matter that the town is so poor? Are we going to get better acquainted with Grandpa's friends? Are Ben's parents going to work through their issues? Or is this just an amateurish romp?
Well, I can answer one question. Do I care enough to keep reading to find the other answers? No.
Oh, btw, the cover is totally misleading. Those characters never all interact at the same time, and most don't even meet each other. Nor do they go out at night. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This goes in the "not very good but some kids will like it" category. It took me ages to finish because it was so easy to put down. The back matter about mythical creatures was more interesting than the story.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5So-so for me as an adult reader but I have no doubt that my elementary aged kids will find it highly entertaining and funny. It is silly, exciting, and squeaky clean in terms of language, violence, and scary bits. The ending even has an appendix of discussion questions and activities and crafty ideas to extend learning of used in a classroom.
