About this audiobook
A killer is roaming the streets of San Diego, preying on single mothers and their children with a depravity that few in the police department have ever seen. He's hunting for the perfect family . . . and judging by the trail of bodies he's left scattered across the city, this particular daddy is very hard to please.
For Detective Holly Jennings, the search for the Family Man killer just got personal. Not only is she a single mother struggling, after the death of her husband, to raise her daughter, but now Holly's friend and her daughter have become the Family Man's latest victims. Determined to stop him once and for all, Holly delves deep into the investigation, combing through evidence for clues to his identity. But the closer she gets to the truth, the further she must venture down his dark, twisted path, until she is forced to decide just how high a price she's willing to pay for justice.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The Family Man, as the press has nicknamed him, searches for a single mom and child to become, his distorted view, of a family of his own. But when they fail to treat him as he sees his due – he rapes, brutalizes and kills the mother and then with a silenced gun kills the child.Holly Jennings is the San Diego PD’s lead CSI, determined to find and stop this psychopath. This thriller is a page-turner. A serial killer with a cop that fights and fights to find him and remove him. And, when she finds him, or maybe he finds her, there is a new wrinkle that will have the hair on your neck standing up. For those who like a thriller with a mystery with solid clues you can follow along, I highly recommend this story.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is a very well-balanced mix of crime and romance.Holly Jennings is Crime Scene analyst for the San Diego police department. There have been two cases of murder of a child and a mother, with the perpetrator becoming known as "The Family Man" by the media.Holly is a widowed mother of a daughter, Chloe, who was born after her father was killed in an explosion. Jack and Holly were both involved in law enforcement. Holly has had a hard time moving on personally with her life, not wanting to become involved with anyone without feeling that she is betraying her dead husband. Her daughter has a best friend who's father is a veterinarian. Holly is feeling really good about this man and is growing closer to him and both of his daughters. He is also a single parent. The crimes take on a personal aspect with Holly at one point and things start to get really involved. You must read to find out how.I thought this novel as so rounded. Very enjoyable and nice to see a very strong woman as the main character.
