Alaric knows that he has a duty and honor to his clan and in order to futhur their protection he must marry Rionna McDonald and become their laird and secure their future. On his way to the McDonald land, he and his men are attacked and he barely manages to escape and is later found gravely injured by Keeley McDonald who has been kicked out of her clan and lives in a small cottage on the outskirts. When Keely finds an injured stranger she endeavors to save his life, a stirring passion builds between them. However with Alaric's impending marriage and his duty to his clan and despite the love he feels for Keeley he knows he has an obligation to his family no matter the cost but sometimes love gets in the way of duty and honor.Seduction Of A Highland Lass is the first book that I have read by this author and I just was overwhelmed with this love story and how well written the story was, and I couldn't help but fall madly in love with the characters, so vividly portrayed in this book I couldn't put it down....it drew me so strongly in the story I couldn't put it down until I had finished with the very last page....Even though its the second installment in the series I found I didn't get too lost or anything with the plot and even though I really want to read the first one now....I am still thrilled that I found this one. Its been a while since I have read a book that totally captivated me and drew me so intensely into a romance that I felt like I was actually there.I really enjoyed the conflict that is presented in the story line, it definitely will bring a tear to your eyes and is very emotionally wrenching, and in some books it needs to be well presented and this one definitely was. I have no problem with this book....it was full of sensual love scenes, vividly painted characters, and a love story that will just bring out every tender emotion the reader possesses

I really enjoyed this story. I loved Keeley. She was such a strong person who had such a hard life. Alaric was such a sweetie in this story. This is my favorite kind of romance - there wasn't any stress between the H/h. They were completely in love and didn't question it. All of the stress was outside of their relationship. As hard as I tried not to cry, I just couldn't stop the tears from flowing heavy at the end. Alaric was just so amazing and romantic!! I enjoyed the progression of the plot although I thought that Banks was a bit cruel to these poor people. How many times can you try to kill off your characters?

Much less flawed than the first book of the series, IMO, but still not particularly outstanding. I feel encouraged about this author though.

Banks is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. These characters are captivating and interesting, the story moving and compelling. I particularly loved the conflict between love and duty and the fact that no one shied away from the harder, more painful roads. There is still a nagging question at the end of the novel, but since the third one probably starts where this one left off, I suspect that question will be answered early on. I like that the women in these novels are strong women, who do not meekly follow where they are told to go. Even the gentlest of the woman, Christina, has some spice and fire in her personality. Also of note, the sex scenes between the OTP were incredibly hot. Enjoy those!

    Synopsis:
Fiercely loyal to his brothers and clan, Alaric McCabe is prepared to marry in order to cement the future of his people. But after being ambushed and left for dead, Alaric is saved by beautiful and courageous Keeley McDonald and finds it increasingly difficult to put aside his feelings for her. Betrayed by those she loved and trusted, Keeley has finally found the family she deserves but can she survive if Alaric chooses duty over love?

    Review:
A truly lovely sequel. The story is sexy and heartwarming, and the characters are very appealing.

While I enjoy romances in which the hero and heroine are constantly fighting their attraction to each other, it is refreshing to read one in which the couple acknowledge their connection and the conflict is external to their relationship. Alaric is bound by his duty but never denies that he loves Keeley, and she is aware of his oath, accepts it and is willing to sacrifice for him. While this is a little annoying, it is also noble and consistent with their characterization. Alaric and Keeley’s romance is intense and their scenes together are sensual and steamy.

The forbidden love storyline is passionate, emotional and entertaining. It never feels forced or implausible, and readers should be prepared to cry all over the pages at the end, I know that I did.

Rionna and Caelen’s book is next. She is fast shaping up to be a kick butt heroine and he is my favorite type of hero – dark, brooding and tortured. Their relationship should be explosive and I’m really looking forward to it.

    Loved it!

A very emotional story. It had me laughing, crying and outraged for Keeley. I enjoyed the storyline. I see this is the second book in the series. I can't wait to read the other to books.

I liked this historical romance with a good plot, exciting action, steamy scenes and sense of family but it seemed like for half the book the characters would brood about the no-win situation. Wounded warrior Alaric falls off his horse in front of Keely's cottage and she sews him up.

I feel bad about rating this one a 2 because I actually think it was a more cohesively constructed and better paced book than the first in the trilogy.

But I just spent the entire last 1/2 to 1/3 of the book wishing that Alaric would end up marrying Rionna and Caelan and Keeley would somehow fall in desperate and abiding love. So. :/

Okay, enough spoilers. I enjoyed this book. It carried along very well with the first book in the series. The plot is interesting and the author writes the characters where the reader can visualize them and connect with them.

The bunnies and I give this book 4 Carrots.

I'm glad I picked up the first book in the trilogy because I discovered a new author, Maya Banks. I like the Highlander setting and she has excellent character development through the course of the book. The couple in the book, strictly speaking, were a nice match. As a pragmatic person, I like when characters are straight to the point without any additional drama. I could do without the excess whining because she knew from the beginning that he was engaged TO HER COUSIN! It was a cousin that she hadn't talked to in years, but he was betrothed nonetheless. The female was sassy, but not annoying. The male was stubborn, but not too overbearing. In this trilogy, the author found a nice balance of the three couples. The first two were unlikable, the middle were fine with some minor improvement, and the last couple was my favorite. Like I said before, a book series lets the author grow and see which pairings work and which don't.

This is book 2 in the trilogy of the McCabe brothers. I must say that I found this second book even better than the first - and I adored the first one! I just love Alaric and Keeley and was SO sad to see the book end!
It was exciting, suspenseful, loving, and also very heartbreaking. I spent a good part of last night sobbing!
I cannot wait to read the third book.

Book 2 of the McCabe brothers trilogy is even better than Book 1. It features the second brother, Alaric, and the fiesty healer, Keeley. After an ambush, Alaric lands on Keeley's doorstep, where she begins to help him back to health. His brothers show up to rescue him, and bring Keeley--a disowned member of the McDonald clan--back the the McCabe keep. Despite his injuries, both are immediately attracted. The only problem? Alaric is set to marry the daughter of Laird McDonald, Rionna. These were truly great characters. We get to visit with the same side characters as in Book 1 and see them grow, but Alaric and Keeley are just fantastic. Both are willing to put aside their own needs for the good of the clan, despite the pain it costs them. It is heartbreaking to follow along, and for a moment I even doubted the HEA was going to happen. Some other notes: this book was definitely raunchier than Book 1, which I found to be more sweet. Not that I am complaining, it just came a little out of the blue. There was also more usage of brogue stylings in the dialogue and thoughts of the characters. Still not to the annoying level, but enough that you really notice. But still, their story really keeps you involved. I pretty much read this book in one sitting. Thankfully, I already bought Book 3 so I can get started right away!

Author: Maya BanksPublished By: Ballantine BooksAge Recommended: AdultReviewed By: Arlena DeanRating: 5Review:"Seduction of a Highland Lass" by Maya Banks was just another one of her excellent emotional, hot, sexy romantic reads that only she can produce for us. This was another Scottish historical novels...the second in the McCabe Trilogy where Alaric has been attacked and gets in the hands of an 'Angel or his devil' by the name of Keeley. Keeley was a 'healer' and tends Alaric wounds. Later, Alaric brothers comes and not only take Alaric to their home but also takes Keeley...against her will, however since she had been tossed out of her clan...and had some feeling for this man who was unconsciousness...she goes with the McCabe brothers and this wonderful read takes off to give us only a excellent amazing read that only this author can give to us.The characters were all well defined with such personalities that only will kept the reader reading to only get more. Though Keeley had saved Alaric in the beginning...will Alaric be able to save her in the end? Will Alaric accept his responsibilities? Now, this is where I say in order to find out the answer to those questions you must pick up this second series.."Seduction of a Highland Lass" to find out what is in store for both of these two people. Be ready to laugh and even tear up some on the ride in this wonderful read. I found "Seduction of a Highland Lass" a read that I could not put down until the end. If you are in for a excellent 'Scottish' romance you have come to the right place and I would definitely recommend this novel to you.

Alaric McCabe is on his way to meet his intended - Rionna McDonald - which will seal ties between the two clans. When his party is attacked on the way, and he is injured, he ends up in Keely's hut, where she nurses him back to health. She was cast out of the McDonald clan due to false accusations and somewhat willingly goes back with Alaric and his brother's to the McCabe keep. The attraction between them is unmistakable and they give into it even though it is destined to be short lived because Alaric is still meant to wed Rionna - or is he?Overall, this was enjoyable, but not quite as much as the first book in the series.

Alaric McCabe is set to marry Rionna McDonald of the McDonald clan. This will form an important alliance between the two clans. Alaric is dedicated to his clan and will do what it takes to keep them secure. Even if that means having to marry a woman that he has no desire for. While on his way towards the McDonald land Alaric and his men are attacked. They are all left for dead and Alaric somehow escapes. He ends up at a secluded home that belongs to a woman named Keely. By the time he reaches the home he is unconscious and has a fever. Keely brings him into her home to help heal him. When Alaric’s brothers find him in Keely’s home they take both Alaric and Keely back to McCabe land. While Keely is healing Alaric their relationship starts to turn into something that it mustn’t. They both know how imperative Alaric’s marriage to Rionna is to their clan and that he will never be free to be with her.Their romance was very sweet and tender. Their relationship and love grew throughout the book and was a pleasure to read. This was a very emotional book for both Keely and Alaric. Keely was an outcast from her clan for being wrongly accused of a whore. She had been living on her own for years and had to have lived a very lonely existence. When she was taken - literally taken by Ewan - she was welcomed into the clan with open arms and became a part of their family. Every time they called her Keely McCabe I was a little teary eyed right along with her. My heart broke for the couple every time they stole moments together knowing that those little moments was all they would ever have together. I was anticipating up until the very end how they would be able to be together without losing the alliance. I was pleasantly surprised and now can’t wait to read the next one!

I loved this book. It took a completely different turn than I thought it it would after reading the first book in this trilogy. It's not often that a historical romance can surprise me as they tend to all have similar story lines(especially highland romances), but this book was a bit different. It is heartfelt, sensual, and at times both comical and heart wrenching. I don't think there was anything in this book I didn't like, it is A MUST READ.

This was a great addition to the series. I am not a fan of medieval historical romances, but wanted to try this because I love Ms Banks's books. I am not disappointed. This one is just as enthralling to me as the first one. The characters drew me in, I felt for them and was in tears a few times. Great story, no matter what your genre preference! :)
