Add another winner for Karen White. This is the third of her series and I so enjoyed it just as I did the others. It will be another long wait for her next...

Such as fun southern series, ghosts and Victorian mansions in Charleston, secrets and mysteries to be solved. Great characters with extremely interesting relationships and the visits from the dead provide an out worldly atmosphere.

I love/hate most of the characters. It’s super annoying that Melly has to leave her OWN birthday party to deal with her (not even boyfriend’s) potential temper tantrum. Come on. That’s pathetic.

Even though I figured out early what happened to the ghosts, I still love the book. And I love the series

Strangers would be very correct. Another of Karen White’s Tradd Street books. As always this book does not disappoint. I read this one out of order I’ve read everything else in the series. I loved it.

The writing of Karen White is brilliant and her stories are so engaging. Aimee Brueau brings it to life with such a pleasant voice to listen to. I am listening to the entire series again for the 2nd time. I series that I never tire of.

This is an excellent series, and very well narrated. I think you would get a lot more out of hearing this story - if you have followed it from the beginning, though. Not a stand-alone story - read the ones that come before this, that are part of the series.

Her accurate description of the supporting characters is perfect as well as amusing. The protagonist, Mellie was exasperating. In the first two books her self centered incapability to let go of something that happened decades ago and was justified, but she couldn’t get off her pity pot long enough to listen to the truth was irritatingly annoying. The dialogue was great although in the beginning I wanted to crawl inside the book and slap Nola’s face I realize that was exactly how a thirteen year with her history would have been.

When Melanie agrees to help Jack with his troubled daughter, Nola, little does she know that the girl is accompanied by more than simply the usual teenage angst ...

This time the ghostly plot revolves around a family of spirits that inhabit Nola's dollhouse. Even though the mystery behind the family’s tragic past is rather obvious, the path toward uncovering the details is compelling and the climax is intense and exciting.

Although they take their sweet time, Mellie and Jack finally move their relationship to the next level and it is well worth the wait. Unfortunately, their romance is beset by the annoying keeping secrets trope, and rather than behaving like two sensible adults and talking it out, they both react like angsty teens with hurt feelings. Sometimes, I want to smack them both in the head to make them come to their senses.

The secondary characters are fantastic as usual. Whether it be Mellie’s parents, James and Ginnette, who are slowly rekindling their romance much to their daughter’s chagrin, or the delightful Nola who it is impossible not to love, or even the smarmy Marc Longo, whose slimy smirk is in dire need of being smacked off, or even the snooty, perky Rebecca Edgerton; each and every character in the book is well-developed and adds to the the charm of the story.

In sum, even though Mellie’s insecurities and her inability to see the truth of Jack’s feelings for her can be irritating, she remains an endearing character and the little twist at the end opens up new avenues for exploration in the next book. Looking forward to it.

Loved the story with Nola but I was over the Mellie and Jack portion of the story early on. They were great through the previous books but I wanted their storyline to progress more throughout the book and not what I felt was chunks dropped in..

Loved the characters as read the other books and have worked in Charleston, SC, so love the architecture! Powerful emotions, weird old Charleston architecture, and a hint of mystery as psychic realtor Melanie Middleton and her boyfriend, bestselling author Jack Trenholm, navigate their treacherous relationship. Nola, Jack’s 13-year-old daughter, adds an extra challenge by arriving on his doorstep from California after her drug-addicted songwriter mother’s suicide, with her mother’s guitar in hand and her mother’s comforting but restless spirit in tow. When sullen Nola becomes haunted by evil spirits living in a beautiful antique dollhouse that Jack’s mother gives her, tracking down the story of the house on which the miniature home is modeled becomes a priority. Charming and complex living characters, combined with unsettled ghosts that balance uncanny creepiness with very human motivations, keep this story warm, real, and exciting.

Fantastic book. This is a wonderful series, book 3, and the characters are so believable. Perfectly imperfect and we'll detailed with an excellent storyline and theme. I can't recommend it enough.
