      Maximum Ride Saving The Wold And Other Extreme Sports is the third book in the Angel Experiment series. The author of this book is James Patterson. I would suggest this book to people who are patient and like action, and also have read the first two books. I say patient because there a several slow chunks of the book. the main characters are Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy and Angel. These six characters form the flock. They are called the "flock" because each one of those six people are genetic experiments. The time frame is set around modern day. The plot of the story is that the flock is being chased around america by robots called erasers. Erasers are robots and some times also expiermented humans that look like flying were wolfs. The erasers belong to a company called Itex. Itex created all of the expierments including the flock. The flock eventualy gets separated and on half of the flock get captured by itex. In the end the captued half of the flock get rescued by the other half of the flok and the entire flock reunites.

      In this book, it starts off right where the second one (School's Out Forever) Max and er flock, try to save the world, as it says in the title. Max is on her way to the "School" to stop the the "School" from blowing up half of the world, to get rid of poor, weak, and sick people, Max and her flock run into some resistance, which is expected, when you are trying to attack one of the largest companies in the world.

      Audiobook. Cute series. Definitely meant for a younger audience, but I enjoy listening to the books. The production is well done with great voice acting and sound effects. The story itself is entertaining as well. I will continue to the series.

      Patterson does not fail to pack adventure into this series. Although I was a little unsatisfied with the way he tied up the ending, it was a great read overall. Can't wait to see what happens to Max and the Flock in "The Final Warning".

      The third book in the Maximum Ride series has Max and her friends on the run again. In this book Max develops a relationship with Fang. Max finds her real mother a hispanic woman named Dr. Martinez. She also finds out who her father is. Max also finds her half-brother, Ari, who is a also a hybreed mixture between a human and a wolf. The human-wolf hybreeds are also known as erasers. Max and her friends stop an evil organization called Itexicon. I recommend this book for science fiction readers.

      More standard fare from the flying kids in this third installment of the Maximum Ride series. They are still flying, running, hiding, and flying some more. I actually enjoyed the second book in the series but this one was just too over the top for me. "Over the top?" you say, "But they are flying genetically modified children! What's more over the top than that?" Yes I know. I really do. But the whole plot was a little too deus ex machina for me. Hundreds and hundreds of enemies attacking at once and Max and her small flock either punch, kick, bomb, or otherwise incapacitate ALL of them. Just like that! No, really. Guns, bombs, adults, robot-wolf thingies, prison-like compounds, OTHER genetically altered superchildren. They are no match for these adolescents. That is the whole plot. Over and over ad nauseum. Oh yeah, and Max find her mom. But not really. But then she does. Maybe. It could all just be a dream. "But what about the dialog!" you protest, "James Patterson is a literary powerhouse! Surely that at least sort of made up for it!" Ugh. Patterson strives for clever and snarky and "hip teenager" and just misses by a mile. It's stilted and awkward and a little lame. I was a little embarrassed from time to time that he actually thinks that's how kids speak. Like others have said, I hate to not finish what I start and this is no exception. I will keep plowing through because I sort of liked the second one, but this series is just not doing it for me.

      Great new series by James Patterson! I was looking for a series to interest my daughter in reading and I ended up reading them all myself before I passed them along. Safe for younger readers, a lot of action type violence but very little gore, with a pinch of romantic angst built in. I enjoyed them, and so did my 11 year old daughter.

      Another exciting ride with Max and the gang with the added enticement of some answers to the "big picture". There was a lot I liked about this story, most especially the revelation of Max's parents (which was obvious but I still liked it) and the separation of Max and Fang. It was interesting to see how Max and Fang see things and do things differently and how much they depend on each other.This is still a very engrossing series with the added appeal of being an easy read with fast moving action.

      Liked this book every bit as much as the first two and had fun reading it. Sometimes Max just makes me laugh ou loud! And I thought I had it bad at 14...atleast I wasn't charged with saving the world or trying to keep myself and my friends alive!

      I hate reading part way through a book and then putting it down never to pick it up again. I always feel like a failure. I like to finish what I start. But I have failed with this book. I just could not justify wasting my time continuing to read it. And the other 2 books in the series are out of my TBR pile. I don't even care about what happens to the characters. Usually I make myself finish reading just to find out how it ends, how the characters make it to the ending. But not this one. It's gone, back at the library, never to be seen again.

In this book, Fang and Max split up...which also means half the flock splits up too! :( Max, Nudge, Angel and Total (plus an old friend) are trapped in the school again! How sad!! :(:( But they're in Europe now!! Sadly Fang, Gazzy and Iggy are still in the USA, so they can't help! I hope you love this book!

      I am reviewing book four in the Maximum Ride series. This book was wrighten by James Patterson.I chose to read this book because it is from a very good series that i am almost comepletely addicted to, if it were possible. The story is about, human avian(bird)hybrids.Fighting to save the world. The main charictor Max is amazing, she was chosen to save the world because she is "the last experiment with a soul." She is the leader of her Flock. The Flock consist of six members,Max,Fang,Gasman.Iggy,Angel,and Nudge.Each of the members are human/bird hybrids, and have developed several other supperhuman strengths. Long story short.Max has to save the world, and take care of a bunch of kids.She figures out her mother is and makes it out alive. The book really did make me happy, but the ending really shouldnt have cut me off mid-sentence it kinda makes me mad because he always dose it..

      The flock is carrying on with the usual order of business. Run. Hide. Survive. Then Fang recieves a mysterious message saying that one of the flock has become a traitor... I didn't like this book as much as the previous two. The first half in particular seemed to be a little heavy on the snappy comebacks, a little light on actual happenings. And trust me, there needs to be A LOT of snappy comebacks before it gets to be too much for me. It may have been just me, but I thought there were a lot more people saying "like." Like, you know what I mean. That bugs me. That said, this was a good continuation of the series, once it got going. There are more twisty turns in the plot than in your average maze. I also enjoyed the developing romance between two of our favorite characters. At one point in the book, the flock splits up for a while, continuing the story on two fronts, which I thought made for an interesting dynamic. My final word: 3 out of 5. Wildly improbable, but entertaining nonetheless.

      This is my SSR book for quarter 3. I have read 432 pages. )I can't really say much about this book since it is a series and I don't want to give anything way about the other books, especially is someone hasn't read it. But I'll do my best without giving anything away from the previous books).This book is about a group of mutant kids. But these aren't the mutant kids that you would normally hear about. These kids: Max, Fang, Iggy, Gasman, Nudge, and Angel, are humans that were given with wings by scientists call the whitecoats. But now those same scientists that created them are actually trying to kill them. In this book continuing from the previous books are trying to escape those whitecoats from "retiring" them, as they put it. On there journey, they cross another breed of mutants that the whitecoats have create called the Flyboys. They are robots that are twice as fast as the Erasers. They go against them while trying to stay alive. Not only this but the oldest of the group, Max, has had a great and major task put on her shoulder, she apparently is in charge of not just saving herself and her flock, but also the world. So the big question is: HOW IS A 14 YEAR OLD GIRL SUPPOSED TO DO ALL THIS AND STAY ALIVE?!

      I love these Maximum Ride books. Yeah they are a little cheesy... but quick fun, full of adventure. Maximum Ride and her family are the results genetic experiments. They are on the run from the company that made them.

      This is actually the third book in the series. I have not read the first two but When the Wind Blows (of which this series was based on,) is one of my favourite books by James Patterson.

      When I heard that Patterson had written a children's novel I was surprised. Knowing what his adult books are like, I couldn't imagine how he could write for children without being to scary. I find his writing style completely different in this book, it is hard for me to think of the books as having the same author.

      Speaking of writing styles, the book is written differently than most books. It is like there is a narrator who is sitting next to me, telling me the story. Quite a few times the reader is directly addressed. This put an interesting spin on things, I enjoyed it.

      Having not read the first two books, I was unsure if I would be able to follow the storyline in number 3 but things are well explained in this book so that you don't even need to have read books one and two.

      I found the story a little slow at the beginning, it took a while for things to start happening but once they did, I couldn't put the book down. I wanted to know what happened next. At 24, it wasn't that long ago that I was a teenager and I've always liked teen fiction so I can see why this book is so popular with kids already. One reason why I think Max's stories will become popular is because it's something entirely new. Bird kids? What other book do you know of with bird kids that have escaped from the school they were bred in? I'm glad to hear that the book will be made into a movie, I would like to see it when it comes out.

      One thing I didn't like about the book although most others I've heard from did like it, was Fang's blog. If by chance this is the first review you've read of this book, (highly unlikely but still,) then you may not know that Fang (one of the character's) has his own blog (which is really online) and it is consulted and used throughout the entire story. Also modern culture is mentioned like Brad Pitt, Harry Potter and Oprah. What I like about books is that they take me away from the real world into a new world so when the two worlds are combined, I find it harder to imagine life in the "book world."

      My favourite part of the book is when Ter Borcht interviews the flock. Max's (and occasionally the other's) smart-alec answers are hilarious! I know most kids would love to be able to talk back to adults like that but obviously can't so it's great!

      Overall I enjoyed this book and recommend it to those 12 and up. I hope that James Patterson chooses to write more novels for kids/teens when Maximum Ride is finished. It's books like these that get kids reading.

      Max and her flock have to save the world from being reduced by half. Anyone who is ill or diseased will be killed. They escape, get captured, escape, get captured... She has a collar around her neck that never really gets explained, but somehow she gets free of it. Ari dies. She finds out who her real mom and dad are, and for sure there will be a book four.

      Max and her flock of bird kids is still on the run from Itex, the evil biogenetics company that created them. Now, though, they have a purpose -- to prevent Itex from exterminating half of the worlds population. Max must come to terms with her parents (a surprise to me!), her relationship with Fang, and the fate of other mutants like Ari to save the world.This book is fast-paced and fun, though somewhat one-note. I particularly enjoyed the way blogging and the internet played a role in the plot arc. While this is satisfying as part of the larger series, particularly in explaining a lot of back story, I don't know that I would recommend it on its own.

      The third (and hopefully not final) book in James Patterson's series about kids who have wings and bird DNA. In this book, they are one step closer to shutting down the evil School, and Max finally receives some information about who is running the School, where she came from, and what is expected of her. The audio book version is wonderfully narrated, and includes lots of sound effects and music to grab teens' attention- although it is abridged, so part of the action from the book is lost in the audio version. But the story continuity doesn't suffer at all. Finally, a satisfying ending the a Maximum Ride book. And hopefully more to follow...

      This series seems a little juvenile, but it is from the point-of-view of a 14 year old who didn't grow up like anyone else on the planet (besides her 4 'siblings') but I like the ideas presented as well as the well developed character personalities. Though it may be a little hard to read if you're picky or get bored with easy reads, but I'd say that these exciting adventure novels can be worth it.
      I do hope this isn't the last book in the series.
