      I liked it even though I felt it was a bit to heavy handed with references to God. However when entering the ISBN number I saw it was classified religion, so I guess it is just the right amount of God references. LOL
      Its a good book, very interesting.

      I did not like this book. It is an amazing story and their faith is amazing. However, the book is poorly written. The characters are not developed. You feel like Krickett has an agenda and needs to portray himself in a certain light. Also none of the subtleties of relationships or emotions are explored. Everything is just cut and dry.

      Enjoyable, incredible, and thought-provoking--this book tells the real story of what happened to Kim and Krickitt Carpenter after a devastating car accident that happened just 10 weeks after they were married. Forget what you may have seen in the movie, I found the real story much more inspiring and interesting--from the sweet way that the couple came together to the devotion that Kim showed as he stayed by Krickitt's side, even when she didn't remember who he was. The relationship that both of them had with God was an important factor in the story and the reader can see how it gave them the strength to stay together as a couple. It makes the reader think about the value of commitment as you see how difficult it was for Kim to stand by and support someone who had no memory of even meeting him and who was often hostile toward him. I highly recommend this book to those who love incredible stories from true life, and anyone who is a sucker for a sweet love story will also enjoy it.

      "Loved it! (Two of my favorite actors) Read book and saw movie. Now a major motion picture starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, "The Vow" tells the true story of a couple that defied the odds and fell in love with each other again after Krickett suffered brain damage and memory loss following a car accident. The film is based on the true life story and book, by Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, which draws heavily on that couples Christian beliefs and the power of God to heal and shepherd a marriage through difficult times. The movie and book had different twist but both good in their own ways - Highly reommend!"

      It took me less that a day to read this very short book with lots of leading. I had read about the couple in a magazine article a long time ago, and have not seen the movie based on their true story of committment vs. adversity. Kim and Krickett Carpenter had been married only two months (after a six-month courtship) when they are involved in a horrific car crash. Krickett suffers from a severe head injury. Her personality changes to that of a petulent little girl, and, worse, she has no memory of who Kim is. Kim's Christian faith inspires him to live up to his commitment to her as his wife, even though she's very difficult to deal with. It's a moving story, but poorly told. The writing is very redundant and the reader gets next to no insight as to what it is like to deal with a severe head injury. Even though the book's byline says "Kim and Krickett Carpenter", the story is mostly told from Kim's point of view, with a few diary excerpts fom Krickett. This is not a bad book, if you are in the mood for this kind of thing, as I was, but it could have been so much better.

      I love how detailed this book is! I have watched the movie first before reading this. I really liked the movie adaptation so I kinda had high hopes for the book, and I'm glad that it did not disappoint! The avid reader highly reBOOKommends!

      The movie is seriously nothing at all like the book. Completely different. I think my problem is the fact that I went into this thinking it would be the same story but it isn't. I think Kim and Krickett are great and I'm glad that they had such an amazing amount of faith to make it through their ordeal. However, I really think this book will be much more valuable an appreciated by their children. It wasn't bad, I just couldn't really appreciate it because I never really connected with them so they are still strangers to me.

      A very inspiring story of a couple who, against all odds, stuck to their vows. I can’t even imagine what they both had to go through. I was slightly disappointed how they changed the movie completely from the actual story. It was completely different from Kim and Krickett’s real story.

      True story of an admirable couple of newlyweds who demonstrate how following Christ and believing in His promises can help you overcome any kind of obstacle. This is a true love story--love for each other and for Christ. Kim and Krickitt Carpenter have only been married 10 weeks when they are involved in a horrible car accident on their way to visit family over the Thanksgiving holiday. They are both badly injured and Krickitt is left in a coma. When she finally emerges, they discover her brain injury affects the portion of her brain which controls short-term memory. She is unable to remember the year and a half prior to the accident, so in essence, she is unable to remember ANY of the time in which she met, was courted by, and married her husband, Kim. She doesn't remember him at all.This is the story of how they both stay true to their original wedding vows, and how they re-establish their relationship by getting to know each other all over again, holding on to their faith in God as their foundation.Incredible story. Worth the read.

      This is an amazing story about the miracles of God, love, and commitment. I love how God is so important in their lives. This is a life-changing book, not just for Kim and Krickitt, but for everyone who reads their story. I hope that if trials, such as the ones that they went through, do come up in my life, that I will be willing to rely on God like these two were and still are.

      I enjoyed reading this book, but I don't know if I would recommend it. It was a book that I would have liked to been able to get the real-life characters a little bit better. It is a short novel (only 106 pages) and it tells the story about Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. They were in a car accident 3 months after getting married and Krickitt (even to this day and 15 years later) does not remember Kim and thier relationship prior to the accident. It is a faith-based book and talks a lot about giving your life to God to allow him to work with you and through you; and the strength you can find in God. The movie "The Vow" is based on thier story.

      This is a quick read, that is very Christ centered. So if you find that offensive, this isn't a pick for you. I wish all people would take their vow so seriously. I have seen so many marriages fall apart because of a head injury. Having been through my own personal experiences with my brother, I can say that the writing is straightforward and truthful. It is very hard when someone's personality changes and they aren't the same person, to you or to themselves. It takes great courage and strength to stay by the side of someone who doesn't even want you there. I thought they did a very good job writing about their thoughts and emotions. I admire the strength, resolve, and endurance, of this family. Bravo, Kim and Krickitt! Thanks for sharing your story with us!It also should be noted that the book has very little in common with the movie. So if you had issues with the movie, you may want to check out the book. They are very different. in many aspects of the storyline.
