About this audiobook

Joe Pike and his partner Elvis Cole must solve the murder of an old friend and his entire family in this gripping thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Robert Crais.

When Frank Meyer and his family are executed during a home invasion, the police begin investigating the secret life they're sure Meyer had. Joe Pike's on a hunt of his own: to clear his friend's name, and to punish the people who murdered him. What starts out as a simple trail gets twisted fast by old grudges, double crosses, blood vengeance, and a crime so terrible even Pike and his partner Elvis Cole have no way to measure it.

The story rolls along quickly from the very beginning with fast action that grabbed me. Everything comes together at the end when the "Good Guys" prevail.

I usually don’t like audio books narrated by the author. That is because they sound like the narrator has no idea what the book is about. In short they are totally different from this book. Thanks, Robert. I have loved your books, but your narration has put the cinnamon-sugar on my cinnamon toast. Excellent story with perfect pitch narration.

Robert Crais has written a book with Joe Pike as his main character. All I can say is wow. Joe Pike is an enigma. A man who lives by his own moral code and lives by his own moral code. Though his idea of justice may not align with our own law and order mentality and he maybe an outsider, he will always be there for his friends and the innocent. Ounce evil is done, he won’t stop till the guilty pay.

Alwats very well written with interesting plots and a cast of villains and familiar faces. I've read all Mr. Crais's titles and recommend them all.

Very nicely done all aspects, including narration. Nice variation with police on sidelines
