About this audiobook

Never before have we read such jarring headlines, distressing news analyses, or dire predictions concerning the world's financial future. The American housing market -- or, more sentimentally, the American dream -- began to collapse in 2006, taking with it large chunks of the global financial system. Millions of jobs worldwide have vanished forever. Did Bible prophecy predict this catastrophe? Are there biblical clues to how soon, if ever, a viable, long-term recovery can be sustained? Is the financial collapse just one of several signs that we are living in the final days of Earth's history In THE COMING ECONOMIC ARMAGEDDON, David Jeremiah says we can know the meaning behind what we see in the daily news -- and understand and prepare for living in the New Global Economy.

An eye opening and biblical overview of events following the global economic recession of 2008/2009. The author ties his observations into biblical prophecy. He warns that we are surely not far away from the One World Government and that a collapse of the global financial markets would pave the way for this to happen.

I found his research fascinating and relevant, although some of his stats are already out of date as the book is five years old! I also listened to the author on youtube for a more up-to-date version.

The author reminds Christians that these coming events should not alarm or terrify because we are trusting in One who is in control. Nothing comes as a surprise to Him. The author also reminds us not to trust in temporary material things including money as these will all pass away soon enough. When we stand before God the billionaire will be in the same position as the poor man, the only thing that will count is the decision that was made about Jesus.

This book also serves as a wake up call for cultural and nominal Christians

We have seen the Gospel neglected and even mocked by religious liberals and nominal Christians. What is different today is that the message of the cross is being ignored by those who claim to be saved by its message. At the very time when the Gospel must be proclaimed most clearly, we are hearing muffled voices even from some of the great evangelical pulpits of our land...We have lost our intellectual and spiritual centre and replaced it with consumerism, self-help, and the quest for personal advantage. We are self absorbed rather than God absorbed

I don't agree with the author's views on a pre-tribulation rapture...but other than that this book was worth reading. I would recommend it but I'm sure by now the author has updated it with a new release....

The Coming Economic Armageddon: What Bible Prophecy Warns about the New Global Economy by David JeremiahWhy I picked up this book: It sat on my Father-in-law’s great room lamp table and the title caught my eye. I picked it up and started reading. I couldn’t put the book down as I found it an interesting topic, seemed well researched and informative and I was interested from the first chapter where it pointed out where the economy currently stands. Why I finished this book: I was hooked right in by the topics and appreciated the biblical worldview presented in its pages. I’d guess the topic has been covered time and time again but since it was so well written and plowed right though it before I knew it I had finished. I really wanted to finish it to see what the author had to say about what it means for me and my life and finances today in the perspective of what he reads in the Bible. I’m sure there is some misperceptions but it was an interesting read and gave me something to do one night. Rating: I’d give this book a 3.75 out of 5 star rating because it was interesting, easy, current, and written by a Christian author. I was really learning about an authors opinion about what might happen based on biblical readings, the current world economy and even though I liked this book I think I’ll tuck it in the back of my mind now and sit back and watch things play out. I don’t like debt but because of school I have some. I’m almost finished paying it off so it will be interesting to watch and see if he's correct. I need to consider the source of this book and ask myself about his intention in writing it. I can’t say it’s right and I can’t say it’s way off either. Again, we’ll have to wait and see how things turn out. I like how he ended this book “Keep you Head in the Game and Keep your Hope in God.” It gave some good thoughts and reasons and things to consider.
