About this audiobook
Lifeless bodies sprawl in a dance-club parking lot after a brutal L.A. drive-by. Of the four seemingly random victims, one stands out: a girl with pink shoes who cannot be identified-and who, days later, remains a Jane Doe. With zero leads and no apparent motive, it's another case destined for the cold file-until Petra decides to follow her instincts and descends into a world of traveling grifters and bloodthirsty killers, pursuing a possible eyewitness whose life is in mortal danger.
Finding her elusive quarry-alive-isn't all Petra has on her plate: departmental politics threatens to sabotage her case, and her personal life isn't doing much better. If all that wasn't enough, Isaac Gomez, a whiz-kid grad student researching homicide statistics at the station house, is convinced he's stumbled upon a bizarre connection between several unsolved murders. The victims had nothing in common, yet each died by the same method, on the same date-a date that's rapidly approaching again. And that leaves Petra with little time to unravel the twisted logic of a cunning predator who's evaded detection for years-and whose terrible hour is once more at hand.
"Why is it so hard to put down a Kellerman thriller?" asks Publishers Weekly. "It's simple: the nonstop action leaves you breathless; the plot twists keep you guessing; the themes . . . are provocative." Those in need of still further proof that "Kellerman has shaped the psychological mystery novel into an art form" (Los Angeles Times Book Review) need look no further than Twisted.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Interesting spin on police /homicide story with a PhD student finding historical links to current unsolved crimes in LA, USA.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Well, I finished this. For some reason I had set it aside some time ago (audio) and forgot I was listening to it. Unlike most of the Kellerman series it doesn't feature Alex Delaware and his friend Milo, rather Detective Petra Connor and Eric, her erstwhile lover, who apparently walks on water. The show stealer is Isaac, a PhD candidate interning with the police department, who, through diligent research and a hell of a randy librarian, manages to find the connection between the killer and his victims. Perhaps a bit tenuous connection in my book, but way to whittle away the time.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a super fast read and one of Kellerman’s better works. I really do like Petra but Kellerman is very, very vague with her development, although that surprisingly doesn’t hurt the story. Delaware and Sturgis are briefly mentioned in this, but aren’t involved. Again, there was a way to work them in easily but I like that Kellerman didn’t. While the title character from the first work is briefly mentioned, I think Isaac would be interesting to have as a pop-up character from time to time. I’m disappointed to see that Kellerman hasn’t continued the series, especially as he left the opening there for future works. Here’s hoping that this isn’t really the last we see of Petra.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In Kellerman’s second book to focus exclusively on LAPD detective Petra Connor, Petra is involved in two cases simultaneously. First, four teens are gunned down at a concert with no apparent motive and one victim is proving difficult to identify. Second, Petra’s genius intern has identified a pattern of murders occurring on June 28 every year with the same cause of death. Both investigations move at a realistic pace (which I appreciate, because a lot of crime shows and novels portray crimes as being solved in a matter of days which never happens in real life); when one slows down, the other picks up and keeps up the suspense of the novel. Though I found the book difficult to put down throughout, it was impossible to tear my eyes away from the last four chapters. I think I spilled juice on myself trying to read and drink at the same time. I really like Petra and wish Kellerman would write more about her.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked this one better than recent Delaware installments. A little stretch in plausibility and some other false notes, but I enjoyed the Isaac Gomez character--his genius and his escapades in love.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5It was a little slow-paced at the beginning but it managed to move along later on in the story. Not bad. Maybe it's because I didn't read the rest of the series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed the book. I like Kellerman's change of pace with the new protagonist. He's probably getting a little burned out writing about Alex Delaware all the time.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5another Kellerman, this one starring Petra and mentioning Dr. Delaware several times so there must be continuity amongst his characters .. I continue my research
