About this audiobook
But today is different. Because the man who has taken her prisoner has promised Lucy three things: that before this day is over, she will be dead; that someone in her family will also die; and that he always wins.
Trapped inside her worst nightmare, Lucy faces a ruthless killer as he plays Russian roulette with the lives of those she loves. Wounded and unarmed, how can Lucy defeat a psychopath who doesn't play by any rules?
After Shock is a heart-pounding, lightning-paced thrill ride that will leave listeners breathless as they root for the ultimate superheroine next door.
CJ Lyons
Pediatric ER doctor turned New York Times bestselling thriller writer CJ Lyons has been a storyteller all her life—something that landed her in many time-outs as a kid. She writes her Thrillers with Heart for the same reason that she became a doctor: because she believes we each have the power to change our world. In the ER she witnessed many acts of courage by her patients and their families, learning that heroes truly are born every day. When not writing, she can be found walking the beaches near her Lowcountry home, listening to the voices in her head and plotting new and devious ways to create mayhem for her characters. Reviews for After Shock
1 rating1 review
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The heart stopping action starts right away and takes place in just one day. Flipping back and forth in time between Now and Then wasn't a problem in this book but did weaken the suspense of the storyline. Lucy has a rich and believably written family life. In this short story, our protagonist suffers seriously. You need to dispense your belief in reality a bit as the story quickly moves to its conclusion. After Shock is easily read in one short sitting. I wish it had been longer and look forward to the next book in the Lucy series, Hard Fall.
