- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5My wife was in a Red Hats group and I later bought this book for her. The author is a good writer. Her approach is purposely light-hearted, humorous and casual, like the group. But the approach sacrifices much organization a reader would expect, like an index, or a more conventional appendix, or any way to re-find a favorite paragraph. Still the author does get across clearly the heart of the various groups of Red Hatters.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Whoever hasn't heard of the Red Hat Society for women over the age of 50 hasn't been receiving newspapers, magazines, television or the internet. My sister gave me this book, which tells you my age group, but I never finished it. I don't object to the idea of women celebrating their age instead of bemoaning it but, for me, it's just too frivolous a way to spend my leisure time. However, for other women, it may be just what they need to feel good about themselves.
