About this audiobook

Friendship. Romance. Espionage. The Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women is no ordinary boarding school.

The last thing Cammie Morgan remembers is leaving the Gallagher Academy to protect her friends and family from the Circle of Cavan-an ancient terrorist organization that has been hunting her for over a year. But when Cammie wakes up in an alpine convent and discovers that months have passed, she must face the fact that her memory is now a black hole. The only traces left of Cammie's summer vacation are the bruises on her body and the dirt under her nails, and all she wants is to go home.

Once she returns to school, however, Cammie realizes that even the Gallagher Academy now holds more questions than answers. Cammie, her friends, and mysterious spy-guy Zach must face their most difficult challenge yet as they travel to the other side of the world, hoping to piece together the clues that Cammie left behind. It's a race against time. The Circle is hot on their trail and willing stop at nothing to prevent Cammie from remembering what she did last summer.

This is the strongest 4 star book of the series. Very well done, with plenty of suspense and action. Full review to come.

    **********************
Featuring an intelligent and relatable lead in Cameron (Cammie “The Chameleon”) Morgan, Ally Carter's teenage spy series, The Gallagher Girls, has hooked me with its action, humor, fun book titles, and highly entertaining characters. With book five, however, things take a darker and more dangerous turn than ever as Cammie seeks to find out why an ancient terrorist organization is hunting her down. It’s the strongest Gallagher Girls story yet in Out of Sight, Out of Time!

    What I Loved

Wow, how things have changed since that first Gallagher Girls story! Kick-a** heroine, Cammie, is no longer just spying on a cute local boy to see if he is perfect boyfriend material. Now she is trying to piece together what really happened when she wakes up with a host of injuries and no memory of her summer adventures. Cammie has grown up over the last few books, facing all kinds of danger and coming out triumphant, but she is on the shakiest ground she has ever crossed in Out Of Sight, Out Of Time. I loved the mystery that is at the heart of this story and how much is revealed as Cammie investigates what happened during her missing months. Everything felt ramped up here, tighter, more urgent, and the pacing was stellar as the story unfolded.

Author Ally Carter is not afraid to provide some real answers as the story progresses, some shocking and some that brought tears to my eyes. We discover traitors where friends are supposed to be, and the surprising secret Cammie didn't even know she carried. I was overjoyed when Macey’s “boyfriend” Preston Winters from Don’t Judge A Girl By Her Cover showed up (he’s such a lovable dork), and I can’t wait to see what happens with him in the next book where it looks like he will play a key role. There are a multitude of major – and minor – reveals here, yet Carter ends things with a torturous cliffhanger that shows there are a LOT of answers still to come.

    What I Liked

Cammie picked up a new love interest in the second book of the series, Zach, whom I’ve been struggling with since I was a big Josh fan. I finally connected with him in the last book (which I credit to getting more of his back story and discovering some major secrets he’s been hiding). At this point, I'm comfortable with him as Cammie's boyfriend, and the interactions between Zach and Cammie in this book made me love him even more. He was always too glib and mysterious for me in the past, but between Cross My Heart and Hope To Spy and here, he is much more earnest and honest with Cammie about his feelings. I'm liking it a lot. Chalk up another Zach fan!

Everything was very balanced in this story. There were questions, answers, and more questions. There were big reveals (OMG, the stuff about Cammie’s dad and the traitors in their midst were great!) and small. There was plenty of action, as well as quieter, more intimate scenes to provide a breather from the tension. There were heartbreaking and heartfelt moments. Things started off with a bang when Cammie awoke in the Alpine convent, then pulled back to build the tension gradually as Cammie slowly recovered the memories she had lost. The story was beautifully constructed by Ally Carter and it all led to that killer finale that left me hungering desperately for book six.

    What I Didn’t Like

Seriously, I have nothing to complain about with this book. It is well-balanced, exciting, and answers all kinds of questions – while leaving more still to discover. Kudos to Ally Carter!

    Conclusion

Author Ally Carter has crafted an action-packed adventure that is stuffed to the seams with secrets, lies and betrayals. Out of Sight, Out of Time takes Cammie, Zach and the rest of the Gallagher Girls crew on a quest to find the missing pieces of Cammie’s memory and ends up providing plenty of answers, even more questions, and a torturous cliffhanger finale. The strongest book yet in Ally Carter’s Gallagher Girls series, Out of Sight, Out of Time is one heck of a ride!

Wow, this series has now lived up to its being in the spy genre.

Books 1 and 2 were all fun and games, and by book 3, "shit just got real". Book 4 was okay, though I have a problem with the writing. Now book 5 was very Bourne-y. With its torture, guns, killing(s), amnesia, mind control and overseas CoveOps, I felt the emphasis now lay on spy in spy school.

How good is it? So good that it doesn't need to offer a lot of Zach fanservice to be engaging. I even forgot about towel-only Zach until I was browsing the reviews!

I'm genuinely looking forward to next Gallagher Girls book. After all, the girls are seniors now and are/will be 18. Plus, to quote Cammie: "Now I know that, from this point on, we'll be the ones doing the chasing." And don't forget Preston! (Will he be attending Gallagher Academy as well?!)

I absolutely love the Gallagher Girl series, and this one was by far the most suspenseful, with Cammie and friends puzzling through so many twists and turns to find out what happened to her over the summer.

When she's not talking us through the most recent plot, however, some of Cammie's observations about life at the Gallagher Academy feel a bit repetitive, even though I try to space the books out. But this is also her last year there before she graduates, so she's allowed to reminisce!

The narrator... meh. I mean, I guess she sort of grows on you after 4 other novels, but still. Meh.

This book was great. Great great great. FINALLY, SOME ANSWERS!!!!

The beginning was a bit frustrating, because, let's be honest: AMNESIA? REALLY? You're going to play the amnesia card?

And then her friends were acting all weird, and there was a LOVE TRIANGLE SCARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

But it all comes together in the end, and we FINALLY know what's going on AND why!!! There's going to be ONE more book in this series, and I'm guessing it will end wrapped up in a pretty package with a bow on top! Woo!

My friend (and students) give me a hard time about reading these books, but I LOVE THIS SERIES and who cares what my friends think? I should have been grading papers the past hour, but was so caught up in the story that I couldn't stop. Such a great book! Downside: now I have to wait until next year for the last one to be published.

Cammie wakes up in a Swiss convent with no memory of the summer. She returns to the Gallagher Academy. When she asks why her friends are mad at her when she came back; I like the answer - because now they can be. She finds that Zach has been moved to Gallagher as a student for his protection. He mother acts more like a mother than a master spy. Her priority is protecting Cammie. But Cammie is determined to recover her memories. With the help of her friends, Aunt and Agent Townsend she travels to Rome and Ireland to find out the secrets the summer held.

This was better than the last few books in the series. I loved the mythology, it was very exciting. Can't wait to read the crossover with Heist Society!

This book has awesome character development. Cammie is less trusting then before; she's also a lot stronger then before. I like how she and Zach are a lot closer in this book.Zach has changed a lot since we first met him. Instead of being cocky he's being more caring toward Cammie. He knows she's been through a lot and he's helping her through it. The Zammie moments in this book were awesome. I love the part Cammie falls asleep in his arms and she asked him where he went when he looked for her and he said he went crazy. This book helped me like Townsend more then I did before. I'm not going to lie, I really wanted to punch Bex in the beginning of the book. Don't get me wrong, I think she had every right to be mad at Cammie for leaving, but Bex could have handled it better. At the start of the book Bex is ignoring Cammie and is closer with Zach and I was like "Bex, what the heck are you doing?" I was not happy the Bex in the beginning, but later on she was being nice and helpful again and I liked her again. All in all, this book is so AWESOME! I love it so much! I don't to wait for the next book.

This series reeled me in when I read the first book by Ally Carter. There is romance, adventure, secrecy, Love and LYING! I find the last part a little disturbing, but other then that the book was great. I recommend this book to girls....not boys! I mean even if I did boys would not like it because the book is based on a girls life. Basically, its the girls diary(spy's diary). I guarantee that you will love this series!

The Great Gallagher Girls Reread/ReadI have reached the point where I stop rereading the Gallagher Girls and am simply reading the last two books for the first time. Frankly I cannot remember why I stopped and I curse my laziness.Cammie wakes up in a convent in Austria, four months after leaving her friends, her mother, her sort-of boyfriend and her school behind in an attempt to keep those she loves safe. The ancient terrorist organisation, the Circle of Cavan, wants something from her. She goes into hiding - only when she wakes up in Austria, injured and weak, she can't remember how she got there. In fact, she can't remember anything after leaving the Gallagher Academy. Where did she go? What did she do? And why won't anyone tell her what's going on?This has been my favourite Gallagher Girls novel to date. Full of action and an intense plotline, I realised that my favourite Gallagher Girls have come a long way from the four girls who conducted surveillance on a boy in town to see if he liked Cammie. In the midst of their senior year, they learn what it's like to become real operatives, rather than just spies-in-training. The problem with that is if you screw up - you're dead.Through these books, I've felt a connection with Cammie that I didn't quite feel with the other girls (though I love them too!). Maybe it's because we see the world from Cammie's point of view, but I felt so deeply for her through everything she was dealing with. The fear of what she might have said or done in those months she can't remember, the knowledge that she may now be a threat and the feeling that she may still be putting everyone she loves at risk. Add that to the fact that she still doesn't know why the Circle wanted her so badly, and the pressure of senior year at a spy academy - needless to say Cammie has a lot going on. You could feel it getting to her. She's so exhausted by it all and she's barely even started. Yet she's handled herself remarkably well considering the circumstances. She is a beautifully written character who feels very real. Cammie is just someone who can endure. And it's not over yet.

Cammie wakes up in a strange location and soon learns that she has lost 4 months. She remembers leaving school in early June and finds that it is now October 1. Her first call is to her mother and she is soon back at Gallagher Academy where things have changed. Her friends don't quite know how to deal with her. As one says, they can be angry with her for leaving now that she is back. Also, she fears that Zach, her almost boyfriend, has become her best friend Bex's boyfriend. Cammie is determined to remember what happened during her lost summer. She, along with her mother, aunt, friends and Zach, begins retracing her steps. They begin at Joe Solomon's hidden cabin and the search takes them to Rome and Scotland too. Each step of the way yields some clues to her summer and to the fate of her father and why the Circle of Cavan is looking for her. The story was exciting. The writing was fast-paced. The characters were well drawn and well-rounded. This is a compelling series and I can hardly wait for the conclusion in UNITED WE SPY.

It is action packed and a thriller. Anybody, any age is able to read this amazing book by Ally Carter.

Cammie went off by herself to investigate the sinister Circle of Cavan, intending to return to school at the end of the summer. Instead, she wakes up in a convent in the Alps in October, having lost her memories of the last four months. Her mother warns her that some memories are best left forgotten, but a budding spy can't leave it alone. The through-story ratchets up nicely, without losing the school-story charm.

I really can't believe how emotionally invested I am in this series. For me the books started out as fluffy, cute, light reads. In the last few books, the girls are growing up and learning that while it may be fun and have it's perks, it's not at all easy being a Gallagher Girl. I was definitely shocked by the direction this book went. I found myself almost depressed for Cammie throughout most of the first half. There were lots of twists and interesting developments that have me craving the next book already. I was definitely impressed by the growth we see in Cammie over the course of the last two books. Also, may I just say that I love Joe Solomon. I actually really like all the guys in this series. Preston ;) (You gotta love a hot nerd!), Zach, and I even have to say Townsend. Anyway, I really, really, really want the next book now!

When last we saw our heroine Cammie "The Chameleon" Morgan, she was sneaking away from the Academy to track down the ancient terrorist organization known as the Circle of Cavan, which has been hunting her for over a year. This book opens with "the operative' waking up in a convent with no memory of how she got there. She barely remembers who she is, and all she wants is to go home. When she finally does get back to the Academy, her memories of what happened during the months she was gone are still patchy. But she's still the same Cammie inside, wanting to know the truth, and doing everything she can to discover it.Many of our favourite Gallaghter Academy characters (including her mother/Academy headmistriess Rachel Morgan and her best friends/roommates Liz, Bex and Macey) are present to help Cammie fill in the blank spots in mer memory.Cannie is the present-day version of Trixie and Nancy, with access to the latest in über-cool spy technology and a group of friends and teachers who "have her back". Since this is a Disney-Hyperion publication, does that mean a movie or television series is pending?

Enjoyed this one more than some of the others in the series because so much of the story happened outside of the Gallagher Academy. It was refreshing to have more of a mystery to this plot. There were some great and not so great surprises, which I can't reveal due to the potential for spoiling the book for you. I predict that followers of the series are going to really like this one. Have already purchased a couple copies for our library.

A coworker loaned me her copy and I was excited to read it. It took me a bit to remember what happened at the end of the previous book, but once I did, Out of Sight, Out of Time was pretty good. In fact, it might be the best in the series. Carter's Gallagher Girls series gets more complicated (if sometiems a bit far fetched, but it works within the confines of the world she's created) as it progresses, but that actually works in her (and the series') favor. As Cammie gorws up and matures (as she has, dramatically, in this fifth book), so does the story. A lot of lingering questions (especially about Cammie's father) were answered in this book (though more were obviously created), but it also perhaps even represents a turning point in Cammie's life. I love her friends (and I like that Carter seems to enjoy writing them, because they're fully fleshed out characters) and I really like her relationship with Zach, as well as with her mother and aunt. I look forward to the sixth book.
