About this audiobook

From Julia Quinn, the author of Bridgerton—along with close friends and bestselling authors Eloisa James and Connie Brockway—comes an enchanting tale of a country house party in which three heroines find their happily ever after!

And You’re Invited!

Given a house party explicitly designed to end in weddings, which author do you think escorted which heroine to the party?

  • The always outspoken Miss Katherine Peyton
  • The impossibly beautiful (and painfully shy) Miss Gwendolyn Passmore
  • The widowed Lady Georgina Sorrell (who has no plans to marry, ever)

When it comes to gentlemen, did Connie invite the horse-mad but irresistibly handsome Earl of Briarly? Did Julia bring the dashing war hero Captain Neill Oakes to the party? Was Eloisa escorted by the terribly eligible new Earl of Charters?

You’ll love the puzzle and enjoy the escape when reading this delicious novel!

I really wanted to like this book--it's a great idea (three authors combining into one story instead of the typical three novella approach). The writing was fine, but the stories fell a bit flat. I didn't get that feeling that any of the protagonists were 'meant for each other' like you do with a really good romance novel.

Super sexy, funny, charming and romantic - I actually read this ebook on my phone in a day and got incredibly annoyed as people kept interrupting me at work...oops. :DHighly recommended!

Julia Quinn's name drew me to this book and for the most part I was not disappointed. The three authors combined to write one connected novel, which flows remarkably well. The first couple seemed the most rushed, while the second two sets evoked more sympathy and connection. Since it is three stories woven into one, you don't get to spend a lot of time with any one character, but all are satisfying. A good, fluffy read to fill a Saturday!

I'm not a Julia Quinn fan, nor do I like Eloisa James - love Connie Brockway. That said, I have to admit that 1 out of 3 just doesn't cut it for me. Glad this was a library CD audio loan, I never would have spent good money with anything with the name Quinn or James on the cover, but I wanted to see how a Regency historical would translate as an audio book. Meh. Think I'll stick to one-author titles. Only 7 discs but it seemed to last forever.

Something about this book was just a little off (for me) but I can't quite put my finger on what it is? Otherwise it is a cute little love story but doesn't stand out from all the others there are out there, which for me is some what disappointing since I usually love Julia Quinn's humor and the way she weaves a tale that you want to read more than once.

This is my first time reading a book written as a collaboration by three authors. I imagine writing a book with one co-author is hard enough but it must be hard to pull off a book with three writers without jarring transitions. I absolutely love Julia Quinn so I had to pick this one up. It's my first read from Eloisa James and Connie Brockway although I do have a few Eloisa James books on my shelves. While this wasn't a blow me away book it was a sweet read.My favorite romance was that of Gwendolyn and Alec and it didn't surprise me when I found out that this story was Quinn's contribution to the book. I loved Alec's sweetness in trying to help his sister out when she feels out-shined by Gwendolyn's beauty. I really felt badly for Gwendolyn since despite how beautiful she is and how many suitors she has she is still extremely shy. I was also sad for her when she is snubbed by the other girls because of their jealously and because they mistook her shyness for snobbiness. The only character that I really disliked was Octavia, Alec's sister. I know she was upset over Gwendolyn getting so much male attention but she came across as a real b*tch which I can't imagine helped her chances with the gentlemen.Katherine and Neill also had a very cute story line but I really didn't care for Hugh and Georgina's story line. I just did not click with Hugh and I can't imagine why Georgina would be so in love with him. Horses are obviously his passion so I would have expected him to end up with a woman who was also horse mad. I also found Georgina's character a little confusing. At first she comes across as this sweet, kind hearted female but she admits at one point the most memorable part of her marriage to her first husband was how they would make fun of the people around them. I might have missed it since I was not really into their story but it would have been nice to see how or why she realized this was catty and not the type of person she wanted to be. Still I felt the other two romances made this book a nice to read but more likely to be a borrow from the library rather than buy.

first 2/3s were fun - stalled on the last part. Really should be a DNF but there really wasn't anything left and I didn't care enough to actually see it play out. It wasn't really the fault of the writing or the story, but the format didn't work for me.

I was very excited when I heard that this was a book written by three authors; however, this book is not much different from many historical anthologies I've read centered around a house party. The only difference here was that this book was not divided into three separate stories. If you approach this book as an anthology, you're enjoyment will be greatly increased because you will expect several shorter romance novels with limited character development. That being said, this was an enjoyable book with interesting characters and plot lines and those who enjoy Julia Quinn, Eloisa James and Connie Brockway will like this book even though it is not the best effort of any of these authors.

Read epub edition from the library on my nook Color.

Retelling of Midsummer Night's Dream, didn't become obvious to me until the final scene (theatre). More characters than your average regency, but handled well. It read rather like one of the Whistledown anthologies only more cohesive. if you are at all familiar with these authors, you will be able to pick out their portion.

I decided since this is a little bit different than an anthology, but is a combination of one story with three mini stories within the one....a bit confusing I know, but if you have already read it, then you probably understand my reasoning perfectly. It starts out with the Earl of Briarly, who thinks he needs a wife more than anything, and asks his sister for help (very uncommon in regency romance) however despite how rare this happens, its definitely a delight and something rare to read. So his sister, decides to have a house party, and has list of people to invite. But as the party at their country home continues, Hugh will have to be careful to catch the lady most likely or she may be snatched up by another man before he can blink. I found this story a breath of fresh air, in the instance of how unusual the circumstances are. Usually in books like this its a seperate story for each author, however these three amazing authors have worked together to create a outstanding tri novel romance that endeared this reader even more. I loved the simplicity of the stories, the heated romances, and the fun and witty storyline that kept me turning the pages. A Pure Dish of Fun Historical Romance that will curl your toes!!!

Three romances in one, as three couples find love at a house party. Each romance feels a bit truncated, because they all have to be squeezed into one normal size book, but they're all good.

While the three stories are interconnected, their respective authors keep them separate and contained. This does allow everyone a clear narrative without many of the plot holes that multiple authors leave, but it also makes all three stories incredibly rushed and clipped. There's also no external conflict, except one character in Julia Quinn's third who doesn't make a bit of difference to the plot.

Of the thirds, Quinn's is the best and also the most ridiculous. The other two focus on rekindling old relationships, but she chooses to go with love at first sight. It could be done well, if she'd had the time to drag their romance through the whole week in the country. Instead, characters undergo wild development in the space of a few hours. By the second night, the couple has been caught canoodling and is engaged, not out of honor but because they really really love each other. Quinn even acknowledges how ridiculous this is, when Gwen realizes she doesn't know Alec's name halfway through their courtship.

Brockway's section is fine, if a bit predictable. Headstrong and blunt young woman is finally put in her place by the rake she longed for but couldn't have. The addition of his unwavering honor made for a bit of tension, but it was all resolved too neatly and easily. Her father shows up to chaperon them, but isn't mentioned after that page. I'm more interested in what he said when confronted by Oakes, 4 years after he denied Oakes' initial courtship.

James' section was probably the worst. She tries for some conflict between Georgie's desire and her memory of her ex-husband, but it comes off as very strange. Richard is by turns cruel, but loving, but fashionable, but a prude, but she loved him, but did she? but... The sex is the most explicit, but also the most full of distracting euphemisms. Again, the couple is caught, this time having full on intercourse in a field. Does Georgina's reputation suffer? Who cares, even though she finally confessed that what she's really afraid of is not being able to have a baby, (that's a trope I wish would die,) she gets pregnant on the first! time! And, we know that because she dreamed of her baby. Earlier in the book, there was gossip about how a pair of twins looked awfully well developed for being so "pre-mature". Hope Georgie enjoys suffering that same gossip.

Still, the characters were all endearing. The story was fun and fluffy. I've read worse, and I think I'll give Quinn and Brockway, at least, another chance with full length stories.

I got my copy and I finished Julia Quinn's part! It was amazingly romantic!! But I am not sure I like Connie's part and she is right in the middle!! I don't want to be mean... but I wish Julia wrote the whole book!! Okay now that I am half through Connie Brockway's part, I am glad!! She is doing a great job carrying the story through and the whole "4 years ago" is so romantic!! Eloisa James's part was hot, hot, hot!!

This story was well done I thought, 3 couples stories all worked into together. Though I have to say I liked Neill and Kate the best! The three authors writing styles blended in well. Off to read the next in the next book!
