- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love Harold kushner...since I was a teenager...though I’m not Jewish learn much from him
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I found the production a bit dated until I found the release of 1989 and the presentation music and the lot is appropriate for the time. The content was a well-formed treatise on the argument on faith and the benefits of said faith. The Rabbi's words have gravity and those who question their beliefs may find comfort in these words. But, as U2 once sang, I still haven't found what I'm looking for...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The title asks the question, and since Harold Kushner is a rabbi, you know his answer before you begin reading. The book is not about WHO needs God, since we all do according to the author. The book is about WHY we need God. Each chapter delves into one aspect of his reasoning. His writing style is very simple and easy reading. His points are well illustrated by explanations, stories, and a little humor.Although a rabbi, Kushner writes "Who Needs God" as much for the Christian as for the Jew, using the phrase "churches and synagogues" many times over. If you want to believe in God, but have many doubts; or if you believe in God, but wonder why we need any organized religion, then this book is for you.
