About this audiobook

On the eve of her retirement, Georgia attorney Mikala Aulani is as vivacious and vibrant as ever, eagerly anticipating a happy future with her partner, Ben. But if Kala has learned anything in thirty-five years of practicing law, it’s that the truth can always surprise you. And when Adam Star turns up at her office, confessing to the long-ago murder of his wife, Kala must return to a notorious case that has never stopped haunting her.

Ten years have passed since young nurse Sophie Lee was accused of murdering her wealthy patient, Audrey Star. Kala defended Sophie and had no doubt of her innocence—or of Adam Star’s guilt—but the prosecution convinced a jury otherwise. Sophie was convicted on a Tuesday—the day on which every significant event in her life, good or bad, seems to happen. Now, on the verge of his death, Adam exonerates Sophie and also leaves her a huge fortune in atonement.

Released from prison, Sophie retreats to Kala’s house and tries to evade the media frenzy that surrounds her. Kala is determined to help her client make her way back into the world and adjust to her new wealth and freedom. Yet for both, there are still revelations in store—about the nature of redemption, the strange workings of fate, and the power of forgiveness. And most of all, about the secrets that hide in every heart—even those we think we know best.

I feel this is one of the best books Michaels has written thus far! I was able to imagine each character and could picture the settings that she wrote about in the book! I had trouble putting the book down and the story line was quite plausible. I finished this book in less than 24 hours! I figured out who done it before the final chapters, but still was intrigued enough to read the final chapters to finish the story!

What can I say about this book? I can only start with the confusion I felt towards it. I'm not sure if I liked it. The story felt long but the ending was interesting. There was so much lead up in the characters that didn't go anywhere. However, the root of the story was fascinating. In some senses the fact the characters relationships seemed to slow down until it all together stopped is what made the story more unique then most. I truly expected the characters relations to connect and grow, so when they didn't I was taken aback. So as I said the story was fine if not a little slow, and the characters were okay, but all in all I would rate this book as interesting due to the way it all played out in the end. I'm not talking about the whodoneit aspect, I didn't think that was all that shocking, just the lack of give a shits that some of the characters showed in the end. I would say read it if you feel like it but don't run out to get it. I guess it's just not really up to par with so many other great Fern Michaels' books.

Another great book by Ms. Michaels. Kala Aulani and her law firm defends Sophie Lee for the murder of Audrey Star. 10 years after her conviction Audrey's husband confesses to the murder as he is dying. Sophie Lee is released from prison and Kala keeps her out of the limelight. Meanwhile she is fighting to get restitution for the years Sophie was incarcerated. Through twists and turns in the story more of what happened is brought to light. the prosecutor joins Kala in trying to find out what really happened since neither one of them believes Adam Star's confession.Sophie learns to deal with life and being free after years behind bars. When she returns to Georgia her friends see someone they don't know.Loved all the characters in this book. By the end you feel like they are old friends. Very easy read, I did it in a few hours. Always look forward to books by Ms. Michaels.

I was really hoping I would have liked this book more than I did. It was good but seemed to be lacking something that I just cannot put my finger on. I liked the characters but it felt like you never really got to know them. It was an easy read and I did like the story line but I figured out what the ending would be way before the end. I think I was just expecting and wanting more then I got out of this book.

I am normally a Fern Michaels fan, but I was disappointed with this book. The first 90% of the book was decent enough, but then the story kind of took a crash landing. I am all for storyline twists but this one seemed badly implemented and for the first time ever I found myself very frustrated with a book.

Attorney, Mikala Aulani, is ready for retirement, but when Adam Star, multi-millionarie, shows up and confesses that he was the one that killed his wife not his wife’s nurse, who is is innocent but is the one doing time. Mikala has always knew the woman to be innocent. She tried everything she could to prove Sohpie’s innocence. Adam, who is on his death bed, makes Mikala a deal she can’t refuse. She is to keep this new knowledge quiet until the day he dies. In his will, he has left everything to Sophie Lee, who has spent most of her adult life in prison. Adam feels this will make up for having to spend time in jail.Mikala gets everything ready for the release of Sophie. Sophie promises to do as Mikala says. She trusts Mikala. Mikala has made arrangements for Sophie to live with Mikala’s relatives in Hawaii, away from the media. Many things have changed since Sophie’s arrest. She gets familiar with the idea that she will never have to want anything ever again. Life would be better than ever. She just has to sit tight until Mikala tells her that she may leave the beach home in Hawiaii and start her new life.I enjoyed the story line. It may have been a fast read if I had wanted to pick up the book and read it. Just when I thought the plot was thickening, I was turned around and directed in a different direction. There was a point where I felt as if I missed a few chapters. There were many places in the story that left me frustrated and almost wanting me to give up on it. I have never read Fern Michaels books before. I will not been keeping my eyes open for this author' but if I happen to come across a book of hers I would give her a second chance.

Fern Michaels writes an excellent story of Sophie Lee, Kala Aulani and Audrey and Adam Star. The legal aspects of this story are well written and keep the reader turning the page to see what happens next. I highly recommend this book to all who are fans of Fern Michaels.

Almost any Fern Michaels book is a perfect excuse to curl up on the couch and ignore the whole world for as long as you can get away with. This one arrived on my doorstep as an early review copy and I was thoroughly delighted. Wasn't sure about the story line at first but it was beautifully done, a page turner that I read almost cover to cover in one sitting...fell asleep with my face on the book! I'm still contemplating the ending and will have to reread to see what I really think of the last few chapters. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book. It's a great read.

A woman is wrongly accused of killing her patient. She is given a life sentence in prison. During her tenth yea of imprisonment, the patient's husband confesses to murdering his wife. Why does he wait ten years to confess? He is dying and wants to clear his conscience. He also changes his will to state that the nurse gets all his money and estate. There is a stipulation to this however. She must not receive any monetary value until the day of his death. The nurse knows nothing of this until the day of his death. Imagine her surprise when they inform her that her sentence is over and of the money that she will inherit. This book has many twists and turns amongst the pages. It is a nice surprise compared to her fluffy and cheesy books.

Tuesday’s Child is one of those books that gets better as it goes. It didn’t hook me right away, and it took me awhile to get into it. But, there was just enough mystery to keep my interest. As it became clear that not all was what it seemed, I devoured the rest of the book. Although it was light on the suspense and the romance, the book was enjoyable enough for a relaxing afternoon read.
