About this audiobook

In this thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling phenomenon, Eve Dallas tracks down those who break the law—including the ones sworn to uphold it.

Detective Eve Dallas and her partner, Peabody, are following up on a senseless crime—an elderly grocery owner killed by three stoned punks for nothing more than kicks and snacks. This is Peabody's first case as primary detective—good thing she learned from the master.

But soon Peabody stumbles upon a trickier situation. After a hard workout, she's all alone in the locker room when the gym door clatters open, and—while hiding inside a shower stall trying not to make a sound—she overhears two fellow officers arguing. It doesn't take long to realize they're both crooked—guilty not just of corruption but of murder. Now Peabody, Eve, and Eve's husband, Roarke, are trying to get the hard evidence they need to bring down the dirty cops—knowing all the while that the two are willing to kill to keep their secret.

The book is great as usual(read couple of times since 1st reading & listen on audio as well). What wasn’t great was the 3 parts of the story were missing from Audi. The part with Peabody actually going to the gym & hearing the bad cops& calling for McNabb to pick her up, the part when Dallas leaves the detectives house & out maneuvers the bad cops following her, the part we’re Oberman knows someone has been in her office & sic’s Bic on the female & the chase through Central, to name a couple of missing portions of book. Why isn’t the complete audio available? or is this a glitch? Membership doesn’t state material would be audited.

1 if her best in the series. I have enjoyed all of the books far. This is extra enjoyably.

This is missing whole sections of the original, which are the reason for the rest of the story.

Story was fine but the recording of it was terrible. Long silent gaps where you miss dialogue and voice telling you to change Discs. Not the normal quality for this series.

I love each and every book in this series but some are outstanding and for me Treachery in Death is one of those. It has everything I enjoy about the series in the one book - so many laugh out loud moments, lots of romantic speeches, nearly all of our favourite characters, heaps of police work and of course a big exciting case.

Eve excels in this story. She is totally in control and manages her team through what is really a disaster for the whole police force. At the same time Peabody comes into her own as Eve gives.
