About this audiobook

IT BEGAN WITH SIX STONES . . .

From the deserts of Israel to the tsunami-lashed coasts of Japan, from the steppes of Mongolia to the most mysterious island on Earth—this is what we have come to expect from Matthew Reilly: stupendous action, white-knuckle suspense, heroes to cheer for, and an adventure beyond imagination. Strap yourself in and hold on tight as he unleashes his biggest and fastest adventure yet, The 5 Greatest Warriors.

When we last left Jack West Jr., he was plummeting into a fathomless abyss and his quest to save the world from impending Armageddon appeared doomed.

But all hope is not lost.

After an astonishing escape, Jack regroups with his trusty team. Racing to rebuild the final pieces of the fabled “Machine,” they discover an ancient inscription containing a rhyme about five mysterious unnamed warriors—great historical figures whose knowledge will be vital to unlocking the secrets of the Machine and its long-lost “pillars.” But the ancients have hidden their secrets well, and with each pillar bestowing an incredible power upon its holder, their pursuit has attracted the attention of other forces from around the world—some who want to rule it and others who want to see it destroyed.

With enemies coming at him from every side and the countdown to doomsday rapidly approaching, Jack and his team had better move fast. Because they are about to find out what the end of the world looks like . . .

Action-packed militaristic adventure. Modern fantasy. The story-telling quality is 4 out 5. Not a dull reading moment! This is the final book of the Jack West Jr. series and ends the saga very nicely. I would give the story climax a 4.5 out of 5. This book tied in all 3 Jack West books to a nice close. The ending is satisfying and does not disappoint despite the high expectations I had. This book retains the same ability to weave fact and fiction so seamlessly it blurs which is a trademark of all three books in this trilogy. Overall, I would give this book an entertainment value of 4 out of 5.Cherry?s Rating: 4 out of 5

Another ridiculously fast paced, intricately plotted, epic adventure. A fitting capstone to this adventure trilogy....although the author does hint at more to come...

I'm already a huge fan of Matthew Reilly and his previous book, Six Sacred Stones, left you hanging with Jack falling to what appears to be his death so I was excited when this book came out. I thought this was another nice addition to the Reilly collection. It was exciting, totally unbelievable but non-stop action which is what I've come to expect from Reilly. Not to mention we also see the trusty Maghook make another conveniently handy appearance. I was hoping to see a little more of Lily's friend Alby but it was fun seeing more action involving the twins. Some of the traitors in this story were predictable but I have to admit to a few surprises which is always nice.Anyone looking for a book that is utterly believable with realistic characters this is not the book for you. If you are looking for a fun story that keeps the action going this series is one to check out.

Jack West is on an adventure that has lots of intrigue and suspense. If you like Indiana Jones, you'll like this book

Adventurous and action packed. I enjoyed all the connections made to historical figures and sites even if they were far fetched. By the end the action scenes had gotten rather repetitive. Actually they were repetitive even before this book started. The numerous little cliffhangers always invariably and predictably turned out ok, saved in the nick of time and the bad guys were a little too good at showing up at exactly the right place and time. I could go on but i wont because in the end this was great as a fluff book. Enjoyable and engrossing even if it wasnt anything near a masterpiece.

I hate to say I was disappointed with this installment of Jack West and his team, but it did not seem to have the same "keep you on your toes" action the previous two novels did. I will admit, it would of been next to impossible to impress me the way the others did, but I was still expecting more. This series is still topping me all time faves, and I am definitely going to read it again to see what I missed the first time around. And I do recommend it to anyone who is an Indiana Jones fan or anyone looking for a thrilling adventure story!

The Five Greatest Warriors is a fun and exciting read. The writing is simpl, but maintains a good pace. Th estory is a little silly, but that doesn't spoil the ride. Worth a read.

Fast paced, exciting sequel to 'The Six Sacred Stones', enthralling and entertaining. Again, nothing profound and it does stretch the borders of credulity sometimes but thoroughly enjoyable.

The third book in the Jack West Jr series. It is a very fast paced book, much like his other titles. I wouldn't say that this series is as good as the Scarecrow series, but still a lot of action packed reading!

This is the conclusion to the story that started in the 7 Deadly Wonders and continued in the 6 Scared Stones. I was a long wait for this book to be published but, it was worth the wait. The premise of this story is a bit hard to believe but, if you just go with it, these 3 books are well worth it. They are all pages turners!

Another thoroughly enjoyable read from Matthew Reilly and again I found myself keeping late nights in an effort to stay abreast of the adventures of Huntsman and all his gang.

If you want to read just for the fun of it, I thoroughly recommend Matthew Reilly?s books. I did not like reading at school and nearly fifty years later I am still fussy with my reading material.

Love this author and enjoy this series. Cannot wait for the next book. My only con for this series is that book are not published close enough together so it make me re-read the last book before reading the new book. But I am always happy once I start to read the book. This is an action-adventure that at times can be a little over the top but it is fiction afterall

It's almost like Indiana Jones meets James Bond meets the Da Vinci Code. Jack west has to take the pillars to various points around the world and ensure the survival of the world, the author making racist side-swipes at various people and mounting cliche upon cliche. Readable but seriously did break my suspension of disbelief a few times. By the end of the story I had kinda lost track of who was who and seriously didn't care. I might pick the series up again but I really doubt it. The characters didn't come allive for me and I was just numbed by the sudden changes.Oh and Cieran as an Irish name? No, doesn't work, if the C is pronounced as a hard K why not spell it Kieran? That's a legit spelling of the name!

For those of you who don't like inaccuracies in your historical fiction or unrealistic action and heroes, pass this book up (and Reilly in general). But for those who can set these things aside and enjoy a wildly amazing ride of action, gory deaths, amazingly imaginative booby-trap systems, and cool military technology, Reilly delivers again. The third installment in the Jack West, Jr. saga, The 5 Greatest Warriors takes us again around the world looking for ancient locations designed to withstand the bad energy of the Dark Sun which, if allowed to reach the Earth without proper protection, will destroy all life on our planet.I don't think this one is quite as good as the previous two, but maybe that's just because we kind of know what to expect...since The 6 Sacred Stones is really the first half of the whole story (The 7 Deadly Wonders is almost like a prequel--setting up the action for the next two books).I'm a huge Reilly fan and always look forward to (and am blown away by) what he's going to come up with next. Put your sense of believability to the side, buckle up, and have a great time!

My Review The challenge continues in this book where the last book ended with a major cliffhanger. In my opinion, this is the best book in the trilogy as it is non-stop action and the ending ties everything up nicely. Some characters are true heroes but the ones that are bad are really evil which makes the book hard to put down and very exciting. Some happenings are totally unbelievable but you have suspend your belief and just enjoy the ride. I now look forward to reading more books by Reilly. I recommend this trilogy to those who love adventure tales.

Not sorry to see this series end and I dont mind if he never revisits these characters again.

I like Reillys in your face action style but all the Fistory is just getting to me. I felt like half the time I was reading I was at the library myself being forced to endure shit I had no interest in reading just so I could finish the story.

Typical Reilly's West Jr novel. Fast paced, action driven and fun. The characters are extremely one dimensional and the writing style bothered me, but worked well for a brain-rotting good time.

Alright ? I admit it. I could not leave Jack West Jr. hanging off the edge of a cliff any longer. I had to read the next book in the series. Again, an action packed page turner that does not disappoint. Even a little romance thrown in to even things out. I am gong to try one of Mr. Reilly?s non Jack West books soon just for comparison sake.

If you've read any of Matthew Reilly's other books you know what to expect: non-stop action/adventure written with a very visual style. This book, the third in the Jack West Jr series after "The Seven Ancient Wonders" and "The Six Sacred Stones", is no exception. It starts where "The Six Sacred Stones" ended, a cliff-hanger with Jack West Jr falling seemingly to his death in a bottomless pit. How he survives, then goes on with his struggle to use the six sacred stones to prevent the destruction of the Earth, is the ride of a lifetime. All this, while fighting to prevent his father and others using the stones to subjugate humanity, and a group of fanatics whose aim is to ensure the Earth is destroyed.Highly recommended read for lovers of action/adventure.

The Five Greatest Warriors is a superb read, once again Matthew Reilly impresses all by his extensive knowledge of historical and geographical features and military equipment. I shall not try to spoil much, but basicly, Jack West JR survived the plunge into the bottomless abyss in the Six Sacred stones, He's back. WARNING SPOILER AHEAD!!! SPOILER AHEAD. DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOUWizard dies, at the hands of Wolf (Jack West, i.e. Jack West JR's dad) the news devastated me too. Who knew that such a smart and intelligent old man would die? A new player, named Carnivore from Russia, has enterned. He is much more powerful than all the other groups. We learn that he is the heir of the Russian Blood line. At the end, as promised, the reward of POWER turns up. Lily holds the pillar/reward and kills multiple people, including China's Mao Gong Li, Europes Diane Cassidy etc. Betrayal is another key theme in the book, the Ireland supervising officer, is working with the Europeans as is the rescued Diane Cassidy. Jack saves Wolf, Ioanthe (British) saves Jack. The book contains a somewhat complicated line. but really, that's what makes it so good. I finished it in one day and two nights. Non-stop reading. But It was worth it.Predictably, Jack west is the final 5th greatest warrior. along with Genghis Khan, Napolean Bonaparte, Jesus, and Moses.

I love this book for an easy read. It is great for people who don't normally sit down and read a book as it is like reading an action movie. Full of fast paced, action, mystery and adventure, and ancient mysteries what's not to love

This is the second Matthew Reilly book for me, follow up to 'The Six Sacred Stones', and I'm not sure I'll read any more. Although there is plenty of fast paced action and it would probably make a very good film, it was just a tad too unbelievable at times, and I mean really unbelievable! The main character Jack West must be a Superman the number of people he constantly saves, the tight situations he repeatedly gets out of, and the number of times he saves the world! I kept reading to see what happened in the end, but really there are only so many miracles I can believe!!
