Savor The Moment is the 3rd book in Nora Roberts Bridal Quartet series. I’m sorta mixed on my feelings for this book and will explain why. This book in the series centers on Laurel McBane and Delaney Brown, who is Parker’s brother. Now for those of you who have been following along in the series you will know that Laurel and her three best friends own and run a wedding planning company called Vows. The girls have been friends since childhood and played “Wedding Day” every chance they got while growing up. They turned their passions of weddings into a very successful business with Mackensie as the photographer, Emma as the florist, Parker as the coordinator, and Laurel as the baker/pastry chef. In the first two books, Mac and Emma found “the one” (in Vision in White and Bed of Roses, respectively) and became engaged, though Laurel holds no such expectations for herself. After all, she been in love with Parker’s older brother Delaney, an Ivy League lawyer, for as long as she can remember and he considers his sister’s friends as his sisters, too. Plus, she believes that Del is too far out of her league.Del asks Laurel if she can make a cake to welcome back one of his paralegals from maternity leave and of course, she says yes. But Del makes the mistake of trying to pay for the cake when he picks it up, which insults Laurel. For her, it’s the last straw and in the heat of the moment, she kisses Del out of frustration and harbored feelings. Shortly thereafter, much to Laurel’s dismay at the embarrassment, Del kisses her back and when Laurel flees he, get this, kidnaps her shoes and holds them ransom. Pretty freaking funny and very sneaky if you ask me. When she goes over to Del’s to get her shoes back he talks Laurel into dating (sans sex—at first) to see where that kiss might lead. Basically the story unfolds, as predicted, after that and they end up falling in love. A beautiful story told and written and the pair are a match made in heaven. The ending actually gave me goose bumps and was proper for the story. However, on to the semi-negative portion of the review…with previous novels written by Nora Roberts, who is one of my favorite authors, she always seems to be able to add just the right amount of conflict and confusion with the characters until just the last minute. I expected that with the story between Laurel and Del and actually thought that if ANY conflict would have happened, it would have been better. However, with this story, it was just that, a simple story. I would have liked to see Ms. Roberts mix it up a bit and cause some dramatics as she did between Jack and Emma (now THAT was a novel). For some reason Ms. Roberts just seemed a little of her game in this book and it was a little disappointing. But with that being said, it was still a touching story and I look forward to the next one which will be the relationship with the final party in the series, Parker and the obvious interest Mel. Four stars out of five is my rating on this good book.

Not as good as the second but definitely better than the first in the series, it’s a nice light summer read with little in the way of drama but some emotional ups and downs. Predictable.

Third book int he Bride Quartet series. This is the story of Laurel who is one of the partners of Vows and she is the one that makes the beautiful wedding cakes. This is also the story of Del, the lawyer for Vows & the sister of Parker another partner of Vows. Laurel was raised in very different circumstances than Parker & Del and although she has been in love with Del for years, she thinks that she is not good enough for me. The sparks fly between them and woven into the story is the business of running Vows and the love & friendship between the four partners.

Laurel McBane, is part of the Bride Quartet, a group of four friends who known each other since childhood. Laurel's contribution to the wedding business is Cakes, and she is dang good at it too. Even though this wasn't Laurel's dream, but because of financial difficulties with her parents, she had to quit culinary school and decided to help her friends with the wedding business and bake wedding cakes. Even though two of her friends have found love and romance in their lives, Laurel doesn't really believe she will be as lucky, especially when there is one man that she has always loved, but one who treats her like a sister, Delaney Brown who is Parker's brother. Even though a passion flares between them, Laurel still has doubts about Delaney and wonders if he could ever love her and still thinks that he is way beyond her reach when it comes to Happily Ever After. But sometimes life has a way of changing circumstances, and that even in her normal life you can still find your Prince Charming...Savor The Moment is the third in the Bride Quartet, and my favorite series so far written about this author. I haven't read too many of her books, I have only read this series and the Chesepeake Bay Series. After reading Savor The Moment, I decided that this is my favorite of the books of the series so far, and even though I haven't read Parker's story, I absolutely adored Laurel. I felt connected to Laurel in a way that I wasn't with Emma or Mac. There was such a emotional side to Savor The Moment, one that connects the story to the reader in a way that usually doesn't happen very often, but when it does I thoroughly take advantage of the moment and get a box of tissues. (LOL) Although most of the story was witty and sexy, there were still those moments where I definitely needed the tissues, but in a good way. Savor The Moment satisfied me in every way possible, from the first page I was drawn in, and there was nothing that could draw me away from these tender romance. I loved how the story line and is basically holds true for the rest of the series, that these are normal women who have faced different challenges in their lives, that most readers can relate to, and even normal people can find a magical love that sometimes we can only dream and...read about. This is one of the aspects that I have truly enjoyed reading in this series. I just LOVED Savor The Moment, filled with everything that you need in a good romance that will blow you away....

Nice to see what's going on with the Quartet, but I found the third lacking. Roberts assumed you were reading the third right after the second in the series, so characters and situations aren't really explained. Not a lot of depth or explanation.

Laural McBane together with her friends has started Vows, a wedding planning company. Since childhood she has had a crush on her friend and partner's older brother Del but feels he is unavailable.

Laurel McBane has loved Delaney Brown since they were kids, but has never acted on it because Del is Parker's brother. Laurel can't allow anything to cause a rift between herself, Parker, Mac, and Emma, but one night when she is angry with Del, she lets him have it in the form of a kiss instead of a punch. From that moment on, everything changes as their decision to date but not have sex for thirty days, inspires a pool among the members of the group as to how many days under thirty they can wait.

Savor the Moment is similar to the second book in the Bride Quartet, Bed of Roses, in that Laurel and Del have been part of the same friend group since childhood and are now involved. The difference in the story is the characterization of Laurel and Del as well as the insertion of Mal to their gang. Laurel's baking adds to the story as many of her creations are described in detail. Although this book is eleven years old, it reminds me of many of the recent romances based around cooking, making it seem well ahead of its time. Overall, Savor the Moment is another enjoyable addition to the Bride Quartet.

Laurel McBane has always been in love with Del Brown, an inconvenient truth as he's the older brother of one of her best friends and business partners. While she sees him constantly as he does the legal advising for the wedding planning business, a friendly spat turns into something far more intense when she impulsively kisses him. Now Laurel and Del must figure out if their romance is a brief fling or something more.Third in the series, Laurel's romance with Del is sweet with pretty low stakes conflict. As Laurel is a wedding cake baker, there's plenty of descriptions of cakes and several other desserts so if you're suggestible and have a sweet tooth, make sure you have some treats on hand. The writing in this one was a bit rockier than what I'm used to in a Nora Roberts novel - mostly just dialogue with unclear speakers and transitions in perspective not being marked clearly. Also naming one character Mac and another Mal is just mean. That said the final chapters involve a trip to a beach house that are written super well and dang do I want to go on vacation now.

So I reached the third volume in the bridal quartet and I'm so excited to see Chef Laurel and Del fall in love. In the second book, Bed of Roses, Nora Roberts has kind of outlined the two last books, and who the girls will fall in love with. I just love to see how it all builds up and falls in the perfect place.

It was heart wrenching to see how much Laurel wanted and loved Del since they were kids. I'm so glad he finally saw her as more than a younger sister and as his sister Parker's best friend.

Linda, Mac's mom is a total nightmare! I feel sorry for Mac but at least she got her man, who loves her, her best friends and a job that is more than a home and a hobby.

I loved the holiday chapters, it was nice to see our girls relaxing and having fun, I'm excited to read about Parker and Mel, but I'm also sad that the next book will be the last one.

Bah, maybe I was less patient with this than I should have been, but even though I'm less than 3 months from my own wedding (!!!!) this was still one of the most god-awful, cliche, trite, predictable, boring, and inconsequential bits of tripe I've ever forced myself to finish. I can save you lots of time by summarizing this book in the following paragraph:

Laurel bakes cakes, lots of them and they dazzle all the brides who order them! And she has been in love with her best friend's brother for YEARS AND YEARS but she's never told anyone, until one night she KISSES him (on the MOUTH!!!!) to "prove a point" -- which I'm a little unclear about, but I think it was something about how he shouldn't be too protective of her because they're not brother and sister, because SEE she can KISS him on the MOUTH. And so of course they both then realize they are crazy about each other, because kisses are magic. In order to get the book to a proper length, there's some unnecessary drama where she worries that people think she's a golddigger because he's rich and she's not, and she flips out on him for offering to pay her back for some groceries she buys for a party. That part is as stupid as it sounds. And so he realizes that she needs reassurance that he really is serious about her, and isn't just sleeping with her because it's cool to get laid by your sister's best friend, so HE DRIVES ALL NIGHT AFTER THEIR FIGHT TO GET HIS MOTHER'S RING AND COME BACK TO PROPOSE TO HER AT SUNRISE. Because, you know, makeup proposals are even better than makeup sex.

Childhood friends Mackensie, Parker, Laurel and Emmaline have formed a very successful wedding-planning business together but, despite helping thousands of happy couples organise the biggest day of their lives, all four women are unlucky in love.

In book 3 of the quartet, we visit Chef Laurel McBane. Her wedding cakes are as close as anyone can get to edible perfection. Because Laurel has worked so hard to overcome her tough upbringing, she is wary about letting anything, or anyone, get in the way of her work. So when she falls in love, she fights it tooth and nail.

I read a review of this book in which the reviewer stated that the amount of detail Nora Roberts goes into surrounding the business was a huge detractor from the story and a negative of her writing style. I absolutely disagree--it is probably one of the biggest reasons, if not the biggest reason, that I love her books. I am beyond entertained by the glimpses she gives readers into the everyday lives of photographers, artists, magicians, ranchers, thieves, private investigators, actors, writers...I could go on forever! This one is no different. Though she's written about chefs before, I still really enjoyed reading about the wedding planning business as well as designing and creating cakes and pastries.

She really is a master storyteller--even if she does follow certain formulas when creating her novels, I will keep buying them and enjoying them for her description of settings, the likable characters, the dialogue, and the lovely storytelling.

I am really enjoying this series and the only HUGE negative for me is that I suppose her publisher is still in a quarrel with Amazon. I waited weeks for it to be released for Kindle and it hasn't been so I finally just bought it in regular format.

I wanted to like this one more than I did. That said, even an "average" Nora Roberts is better than "average" for others I think. The problem I think was that there wasn't much conflict. Usually, what pushes the story along is boy meets girl, boy loses girl/there is a threat to the relationship and then there's the HEA. Well, in this one, for me, there wasn't much of a threat to the relationship. It was all happy families and while I enjoyed the banter between the characters and the writing style was as good as ever, the plot let this one down a bit. I'm wondering what Ms. Roberts will do for the 4th book (to which I am avidly looking forward) for Mal and Parker. They seem to have been paired up by everyone else but them so far even though there is heat between them. I'm hoping there will be a conflict I can get my teeth into like in the first 2 books and that this series will end with a bang. I'd give this offering a C

Savor the Moment is the third installment of four in the Bride Quartet series. In this story, Laurel McBane allows her life long interest in Del Brown, Parker Brown’s brother to surface. Since Laurel and Parker are not only life long friends, but also business associates and neighbors, sticky situations could develop is the romance hits the skids. In true Nora Roberts’ style, the couple has their difficulties before reaching the conclusion. The Bride Quartet is interesting from the standpoint that the four friends run a wedding planning business that is blooming for their high-end clients and Roberts always writes excellent romance. Though this is an easy read, the story has depth and is entertaining.

I really think Nora Roberts had been watching Buffy directly prior to or perhaps during the writing of this series. The dialogue is just so similar to Buffy-speak. I like it.Besides having pretty much the same plot as the last volume (girl in love, guy with commitment issues, known each other forever, don't want to lose the friendship when they start boinking), I still really enjoyed reading this. Maybe because it's summer and this is such a fundamentally beachy read, but I can't really think of anything to complain about except the aforementioned similar plot and also just the average-ness of it all. Although, I'm still really looking forward to reading the last book in the series about Parker and Malcolm. Squee!

The third installment in The Bride Quartet, Savor the Moment, is the story of Laurel McBane. Laurel is one of the founders of Vows - the wedding business that she and her three BFF's run. Laurel is the artiste behind the lavish wedding cakes that Vows offers.Once again, I must say how in awe of this series I am. Although Savor the Moment was the least favorite in the series (for me!), I still love how "feel good" these books truly are. From its first page you are swept into the whirlwind life of a wedding planning/producing organization. The four friends are one of the most wanted wedding organizers in their state and Laurel is up to her elbows in fondant. Her wedding cakes are piece of art. She will spend countless hours (including losing sleep) in creating a bride's perfect cake. She doesn't have much time for anything else, but she will take a moment of that time to appreciate, Delaney Brown, one of her best friend's brother. Delaney and Laurel have known each other most of their lives. He treats her like he treats the rest of the three girlfriends, as a sister. He's over protective, over bearing and always gets Laurel's temper going. This may be because she's had a crush on him since, well.... forever. When a minor spat gets their tempers flaring and leads to a very hot kiss, a moment of passion might be just what they need to escalate their friendship into a much deeper connection. I really liked Laurel and Del. They are feisty and witty and rather sarcastic (which always gets a rise out of me). They are perfect for one another. Laurel is a fighter... she's got quite the temper. And Del, being an attorney, is her perfect match since he knows just how to stand up to her and when to conform. Their push and pull, the constant bickering and the making up was quite entertaining. Aside from the lovely characters, I loved the baking. The details of Laurel's cakes and baked goodies were so detailed that you could almost see and smell them. I was rather hungry for most of the time I was reading this book. I may have even snacked on a cookie or two because of it. Then there was the girls' friendship. I may love this aspect of the book most of all. I love when they have their girl time and just discuss the random in's and out's of their lives. Whether it be their business, upcoming weddings or even their own weddings. I love how they stand up for each other, always ready to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. Parker, Emma, Laurel and Mac continue to be one of my favorite group of friends in contemporary romance. What can I say that I haven't already about this series? It is pure unadulterated girlie awesomeness. Weddings, love, friendships, romance, and food. Can you go wrong with that combination? Nope siree, there's nothing you can do to mess that up. I love that you don't have to think too much in this series. There is nothing going on in it other than love. No bad guys. No vampires. Just regular people falling in love with each other... while you fall in love with them.

I absolutely love these books. Having already read the first two I had been anticipating reading this one. Laurel and Del are people that lots of people can relate to, Del being Laurel's best friends brother makes their relationship have its ups and downs but they make it work. Plus the added details included about Parker, Mac, and Emma that liven up and add a loving familial quality to the lives of these characters is something that l a lot of books often overlook.

For Laurel, creating the perfect cake for each new bride and groom is more than a matter of pride - it's art. She's thrilled to be working with her three best friends at Vows, their wedding planning company. The fly in her icing? Ivy league lawyer Delaney Brown, the brother of one of her partners. Laurel's tired of being treated like a little sister by the guy she finds most edible - but when she takes things out of sister-land, can she handle the heat in the kitchen?Third in the Brides Quartet, this is predictable fare that still manages to be light, fun and exactly what's called for on a rainy, stay-at-home with a book, cup of tea and a cat-filled-lap afternoon.

Love this series! Love this story! I believe that Laurel's story captures the way many working class women have felt while dating. This book captures the true essence of dating someone who has always been a friend. This book is wonderful as the third in a quartet but would stand alone as well. Cannot wait for Parker's book!

As a partner of Vows with Parker, Emma and Mac, Laurel McBane does her part with the confections. Working her magic on different pastries was easier than facing the feelings she had for Parkers brother Delaney Brown had ever been. Knowing each other for years and having always thought of all four of the girls as his sisters, Del had a difficult time believing what he was starting to feel for Laurel. Knowing didn’t make the doing a good idea, but finding out how she felt made it a different situation. Book 3 ….. Saw this one coming a mile away (or at least two books away). But is was still a wonderfully written addition to the Bride Quartet series. Knowing the characters as much as we get to know them by the third book makes some things almost too obvious. I really enjoy the interaction with the other characters, just because this in not their story anymore does not mean they can’t be in it. Love how all the guys are friends and they all pitch in to help the girls (obviously friends) do their jobs as the wedding extraordinaire that they are. Loved the cakes too, mouth watering just to hear about some of them. For the next book, Happy Ever After, yeah it is obvious who is going to match up with Parker, but half the fun will be getting there. Definitely anticipating it’s release in November 2010.

Pleasant installment in the Brides Quartet. Well-written but very little conflict or significant issues to be resolved by the two chief romantic protagonists. The most interesting thing was the descriptions of fancy weddings and fancy wedding cakes.
