Author
Charles Dickens
Charles Dickens was born in 1812 and grew up in poverty. This experience influenced ‘Oliver Twist’, the second of his fourteen major novels, which first appeared in 1837. When he died in 1870, he was buried in Poets’ Corner in Westminster Abbey as an indication of his huge popularity as a novelist, which endures to this day.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5BEST NARRATION! This is the only way to listen to this book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Patrick Stewart is always amazing. The chapter numbers were off, but otherwise good.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The guy who read it reminds me of Professor Frances Xavier from the X-Men books.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5good book very good listen to it, its a great book
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful and timeless story, talented and amazingly read/acted. Truly a delight to the ears (except when he snored haha!).
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A Christmas Carol will always be one of the most magical Christmas stories out there, and is a heartwarming tale of redemption. Patrick Stewart’s performance is phenomenal. You can tell he had a great time recording this.
My only complaint is that this is abridged. I hate abridged audiobooks, but I still had to listen to this because of my love for Stewart. If you are familiar with the story (even just from movies) you will find familiar scenes to be lacking certain famous quotes, and at times the dialogue moves a little too quickly.
With that being said , it is a must-listen and is definitely a great choice if you want a quick story to get you in the Christmas spirit. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5wonderful story and wonderful heartfelt delivery….much better than other deliveries I have heard
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The dramatic reading was incredible! We will definitely listen to it year after year!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A Dickens fan since 1972, the Patrick Stewart and George C. Scott film versions rant up there. Stewart’s voice brings alive this classic.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the only work by Charles Dickens I enjoy and Patrick Stewart reading it gave such liveliness
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have always enjoyed Sir Patrick Stewart's portrayal of Scrooge on tv and have watched it almost every year. That's why I was eager to listen to an audio rendition. I was overjoyed! What a great performance. His voice and characterizations were as awesome as I envisioned they would be. Listening to this particular performance of A Christmas Carol may become a new Christmas tradition for me. Fantastic!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I was excited to find Patrick Steward version but unfortunately it’s abridged. This means it cuts out my favourite scene of the wonderful description of the Christmas street and food in n the windows! Such a shame!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Patrick Stewart's performance need I say more. I really enjoyed it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Patric Stewart’s rendition was instantly recognizable, but some of the characters he voiced sounded like a completely different person. Astonishing. This classic sounded wonderful.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Patrick reads this beautifully. It’s a joy to listen to!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Patrick Stewart plays all the characters from A Christmas Carol and is excellent. Take a listen. And, Merry Christmas ?
