Nadav Kander and Alamy in ‘photo of a photo’ row

A DISPUTE has erupted between celebrated portrait photographer and artist Nadav Kander, magazine and major stock library Alamy. In a recent post onof publishing a photo (via Alamy) of one of his most famous images – a portrait of film director David Lynch – without his permission. ‘A “photographer” goes to one of my exhibitions and photographs my framed print of David Lynch,' a clearly aggrieved Kander writes. ‘He uploads this picture to Alamy. Now this week publishes an interview with David and buys this despicably shot picture of my photograph, crops in and uses it on the cover…. Unbelievable blatant copyright infringement… I would never have wanted this photograph sold.'
