No sign of raids for those fearing ICE sweeps in Chicago

CHICAGO - Chicago braced for immigration raids this weekend but advocates said all was quiet - for now.

Officials from the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights said they hadn't gotten any reports of raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement through their hotline or network of community groups as of midday Sunday.

Erin Cobb, president of the Chicago chapter for the American Immigration Lawyers Association, said she also has not been made aware of raids. "It doesn't mean it isn't happening," Cobb said. "It could be happening on a smaller scale."
