3 dead, at least 16 hurt in Chicago shootings, including 5 attacked in South Side drive-by

CHICAGO – Three men were killed, and at least 16 other people were wounded in city shootings since Friday evening, including five shot in a single attack in the Gresham neighborhood, Chicago police said.

In that shooting, shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday, the five people were shot in the 7900 block of South Loomis Boulevard in the South Side's Gresham neighborhood.

Police said a group was gathered on a sidewalk when a gray sedan pulled up, and someone opened fire. A 29-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken in critical condition to Advocate
