Four of the best beauty gift sets to give for the holidays

Kiehl's offers more than a dozen holiday sets with delightful packaging designed by American illustrator Andrew Bannecker. A good starting point would be the Ultra Hydration Special (HK$665), which includes the brand's signature products - cleanser, toner, cream, concentrate and sunscreen - and is everything you need for winter.

With its minimalistic packaging, the holiday box by Japanese brand RMK does not look particularly festive. But you cannot go wrong with its unisex Body Care Kit (HK$340), containing body oil, nail and hand cream, body milk and tinted lip balm that are suitable for all skin types.

L'Occitane's Immortelle Precious Treatment Set (HK$1,413), which contains a cream, an eye cream and a serum, would make a great gift for someone special. For something at the lower end of the price range, there is the Shea Butter Xmas Star (HK$105) and the Almond Xmas Bauble (HK$105).

Benefit Cosmetics' Triple Decker Decadence (HK$380) is a bargain. The three-layered tin cake contains the brand's bestselling Porefessional face primer, Badgal Bang! Mascara and brow-highlighting pencil, all full sized, and a mini Gogotint lip & cheek stain that completes your look by adding a pop of colour.
