IN PRAISE OF DUNG BEETLES

In this study, researchers made artificial cowpats using faeces collected elsewhere. They added dung beetles to some of the cowpats and also simulated rainfall during the 10 weeks of the study. Throughout that time, they measured levels of parasitic larvae in the vegetation around the cowpats. The results showed that at first there were more parasite larvae around the cowpats
