When it comes to the stock market, the Trump administration has suddenly entered a quiet period.
The president, who frequently boasted when the stock market was hitting record highs, has said nothing about the market's stomach-churning gyrations in the past few days.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin also avoided the subject in prepared remarks to the House Financial Services Committee. When pressed, Mnuchin told lawmakers that the market is not cause for concern.
