If you haven’t heard, we are in the midst of a particularly nasty flu season. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recently announced that the entire continental United States has “widespread” flu activity—meaning that there is no place left unaffected by the disease.

Children are especially vulnerable to the flu—as of this weekend, that 20 children have died from it so far. However, there are important steps you can take to help prevent your kids from catching the it. Pediatrician and mother of three Tanya Altmann, M.D., shared with us her most important tips for the season:
