The Unforgettable: Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh tend to equate people with animals

Actors Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh talk about their passion for cinema and their tendency to equate people with animals.

At first glance, there's not much in common between actors Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh. If Aamir Khan wears the label of the quiet perfectionist with aplomb, then Ranveer Singh wears the magic cloak of a performer who is never short on energy. During the course of a two hour conversation, however, both actors reveal their meticulous approach towards their craft. In edited excerpts, the actors talk about their passion for cinema and their tendency to equate people with animals.

Ranveer Singh: Sir, if you had to walk into any space, what would be the theme music playing in the background?

Aamir Khan: For myself?

Ranveer: "Haanikaarak Bapu" [from Dangal (2016)]?

Aamir: (Laughs) I wanted to ask you. How did you get into films?

Ranveer: As far back as I can remember, I wanted to be a Hindi film ka hero. Nothing fascinated me more than mainstream Hindi films. I couldn't think of doing anything else.

Aamir: So how did you break into Bollywood?

Ranveer: You have gone far ahead, sir. You have started asking questions about me when I have written a very heartfelt introduction about you. I have never done this much homework in my life. Should I start?

Aamir: Chhodo na.

Ranveer: Main boloon, sir.

Aamir Chalo, theek hai.
